One Subject’s Coronation Ode

Regina Semper! Endless Queen! Your subjects' love is evergreen! We hearken close to your decree We bow in great respect

And when our monarch grandly stands And utters gentle, firm commands, Each resident soon understands Just what you do expect.

For you are kind and always good And from the start we knew you would Treat all your subjects as you should We've ne'er been disappointed.

You rule with mercy, wisdom-fed Our nation thrives, for you have led Parades triumphant. May your head With blessings be annointed!

Class M

There are no new planets Any more than there are new kinds of people

These planets around Trappist-1 Have been there, perhaps waiting for someone

To notice them, to be excited, rewarded in their hopes That they would somehow exist

In the great dark sky we all view From angles no one may predict.

I find you in an unsearched area of the world And adulate, exulting in a new friendship

That I had never had proof of before, But which I had yearned for and believed in

From the first pangs of loneliness So many, many years and miles ago

And so this meeting, this greeting May sound the herald, the claxon, the new trump

That says “you have messages” in a voice Someone we never met has created

And more new friends, new worlds to explore Run forward for the first quenching embrace!

If you were a historical figure you'd definitely be a poet and you seem like a social activist so I'm gonna say in a past life you were a poet/activist during the beat movement

This suits me well! Let me think... I, as Joan, was born in 1951, a tad late in the game to have gotten into that, unless I was quite precocious, even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious by 1964. Looking back, I see that a lot of the beat poets were born in the ‘20s and ‘30s. But that was my folks’ period, and they were still very much into that, so I can identify with that whole movement. If this were a past life, it was my parents’ generation, give or take. 

I’m somewhat of an online activist, but with my social anxiety I am not active in public places in meatspace. But I do like to promote kindness and acceptance, and point out wicked, smallminded people when I can, and raise awareness in whatever way I may. Perhaps I should try some beat poetry and post it for you!

The Dreamlife of Astronauts is a great book🌹

ahh i’m so so so sorry this took so long to answer! i had to take three tests this week and it was very stressful!! but the dreamlife of astronauts looks very good and i will definitely check it out
