Idk why regulus giving Voldemort the proverbial middle finger is some peoples’ evidence for him for giving up blood purity, just so we’re clear
1-he was raised in a racist household and had a shrine of Voldemort
2-he loved kreacher, a racist house elf with pureblood ideals
4-he went a step ahead of his parents and not just embrace blood purity but actually joined Voldemort’s DEs. Meaning he was happy with the murder and god knows what else of innocents that, *checks notes* had the wrong blood status.
He literally ONLY defected because he was personally effected. He pulled a Narcissa, he went against Voldemort because a pos that he loved was hurt that’s it. It doesn’t mean that he (or she) had a heart of gold, or that he was forced into this life and never wanted to do it (you could argue the first part is true to an extent), it doesn’t even mean that he stopped and had a whole existential crisis about whether or not the ideals he’s believed it are right. Doing one good thing for selfish reason doesn’t mean that someone unlearned a life time of bigotry.
