Look at this amazing bird I saw on my walk to campus this morning! I believe it’s a ruby crowned kinglet, Regulus calendula. I’ve never seen this type of kinglet before and I was so excited I was almost late to class. I saw about ten of them all hopping around in the underbrush. They are a lovely shade of olive green and the males had brilliant red crests. One of the females even hopped on my shoe for a second! It was wonderful!
