Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts will bring Sunspire Health’s Spring Hill facility of Ashby Massachusetts into its network of participating providers effective June 8th, 2018.
The state is currently in the midst of a serious addiction problem that shows no signs of slowing down. Deaths from heroin and fentanyl are rising fast in the Bay State. In fact, Massachusetts finds itself among the top ten in the nation with the highest rates of substance addiction. Spring Hill’sacceptance into the BC/BS network will enable the facility to give those living in its local slice of the state more of a choice in where they go for substance treatment.
“Medical insurers like Blue Cross are coming around to understanding the importance addiction treatment centers like ours play in treating those suffering from substance misuse,” said Spring Hill’s Executive Director Eric Ekberg. “It’s nice that we can offer the community more choice right in their backyards.”
Spring Hill is located on an expansive, 70-acre campus that gives those who are staying there a ‘back-to-nature feel’, where they can find the inner peace they need while receiving treatment to overcome their addictions. The facility offers personalized treatment plans aimed at promoting long-term recovery and reducing the chance of relapse. With each day spent at the facility, patients learn about their addiction, work through the hardships it caused, and ways to cope with the triggers in their recovery. “Finding treatment for alcoholism and drug dependency is one of the biggest hurdles towards recovery,” said Amy George, Regional Director of Clinical Outreach at Spring Hill. “A patient’s health is more important than anything, that’s why cost or coverage should not be a barrier to getting help.”
