The reincarnates are the people who were reborn and regained their memories of what is called their “main life”. Their symbol is the pomegranate, usually associated with Persephone, whom many of many consider their patron goddess, as she too comes and goes in the Underworld. (The symbol is down here. It’s a red circle inside of a brownish orange, containing inside of it two pomegranates. One of them is open and the other is not. They´re on three leaves, one green, one dying, and the third dead.)
Their lives usually have already turned into mythos when they come back. For instance, the protagonist of the story is Icarus. Reincarnates often are only able to remember their main lives when they’re teenagers, and sometimes a little younger, but not by much. Many of them are abandoned, though, for their parents are often unnerved when their babies have the eyes of an old soldier. (That´s the reason behind their more formal name, Old Souls).
They are a minority and have often in History suffered persecution and prejudice. (That’s why the College was built- I’ll talk about it in another post). Becasuse of it, many of them feel as if they can’t trust the normal government (with good reason for it) and usually only answer to the Old Souls’ Association, a millenium old organization that helps and protects reincarnates.
