I can't stop with these lil dudes. I decided to make them canon!

These little Savanna Scrapwings have more flair than their northwesterly plains cousins, but are just as hardy. They live in the grasslands that skirt the Sentomia Desert, and travel in small ever-moving herds. They feature a somewhat strange bulbous beak and an equally strange combo of stripes along their crest and dappled spots on their hindquarters.

They rarely stand taller than 13 hands and are seen as a cute curiosity by those unfamiliar with the animals in the desert regions.
