This is more something directed all all of the people of faith who would look onto me (I state I am an atheist to a point) who would "Pray that I find God" or "Feel pity towards me for not following God", because in a sense of the word it really pisses me off when people pull that kinda crap. Don't go and lash out because of these first few sentences, because in the long run I RESPECT that you choose to follow a written scripture - and I expect you to RESPECT that I have no belief.
DO NOT:
-Pity me for not following your religious beliefs
-Talk down on me because I do not follow in your beliefs
-Do not accept your written god into my mind or heart
Please take note - I only state that I am atheist because I DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANY OF THE WRITTEN SCRIPTURES.
By this I state that I do not deny that I BELIEVE that there is a higher, possibly divine being. I state that the bible, among other things, is a crock of shit when it comes down to it (pardon my blunt statement there).
I believe that life did not start out of the blue. I believe that someone, or something, put the initial starting blocks of life on this planet, then stepped aside or disappeared entirely to allow the world to progress with little to no influence. Did said being create our entire galaxy/universe? Maybe. I do not hold a place where I can lean either direction on that account.
I consider myself a highly spiritual person. I like to believe that something more happens to us once we pass on. Not necessarily a heaven or a hell - given that such things are too much of an extreme. The whole idea that someone could either accept the WRITTEN God into their hearts or burn in a fiery inferno for eternity, is utter bullshit. Being cast to suffer simply because we did not believe in them upon our moment of death? Doesn't sound like an all loving God to me. Sounds like a sociopath who cannot handle that someone does not trust or like them.
Then there's the whole "I can murder people - but as long as I accept Jesus as my savior, I can get into heaven" BS that I see about. The Bible in general is full of shit that contradicts itself in dozens of places. Most religions that I've seen also make WOMEN out to be trash/property/evil.
Going by the bible - Eve was not the first woman. Eve was the second bitch made to serve Adam because the original wouldn't submit to him. The first woman was Lilith, who became the queen of demons because she wouldn't have sex with him the way he wanted.
She was EQUAL to her man - and his masculinity was so hurt by this that he whined to the almighty and was cast away to become an extremely powerful demon. Go ahead and fight with me about that - given that said writings of Lilith were REMOVED from the bible. THAT only proves that the written scriptures are inaccurate, and the works of man - not the divine being that everyone claims to follow.
Need I continue to call out a variety of BS from a written scripture? There is no Holy Book that can convince me to follow THEIR God. Because no written scripture can be accurate, (even if God really had someone write it) because it was written FROM THE POINT OF VIEW AS A MAN. There's also the fact that the scriptures are constantly translated and rewritten, meaning that the original text is probably long gone and replaced with all the BS that keeps me from following religion.
As I stated a short time ago - I am a very spiritual person. I like to think that the wicked are punished accordingly for their crimes, but not forced to suffer for it for all of eternity. Heaven and Hell are two extremes which make any form of existence after death seem like agony.
I believe in reincarnation - and the choice to take part in it.
I believe that if there is a divine judgement following death, that it will be upon how I was as a PERSON, and not on whether or not I believed a scripture that was ruined over the centuries by mankind.
I KNOW that there is evil in the world. Do I believe that it is a being of hell that seeks to corrupt me? Fuck no.
People corrupt themselves and each other. I don't need a beast of beautiful lies to do that for me when the next person I meet might manipulate me into killing my best friend.
I lack FAITH because there is nothing to put faith in.
People are wicked - but people are compassionate and trustworthy as well. Just as there are good people who would seek only to help me, there are bad people who would sooner use me and leave me to rot in a hole.
There is no divine intervention sending me down the right path. There are the choices I make, and the choices of others.
The notion of a divine is nonsense - if God created me for this, then they are in no place to judge me if I happen to stick to that path.
Whatever God - or Gods/Goddess' are out there, then they know me as I am and will dish me whatever punishment I deserve. Then once I have reached the end of that punishment, I will move on to something else. Something outside the pain and agony of life and to a more peaceful existence where my free will still exists.
THAT is my belief.
THAT is my view on religion and the scriptures.
Do not pity me for not believing in the writing that has been ruined over the centuries.
Do not talk down on me because I hold to much awareness to believe in the text that contradicts itself on every turn.
RESPECT that I hold a unique idea on what the divine are and how they work.
Because I don't try to talk down on you for believing in what you do.
