i recall some time ago (last year?) you mentioned the idea of having a game featuring your ocs and i was curious how you were imagining it! i did actually ask back then too but i figure the ask got lost.

Omg I have a lot of thoughts nfndndn not all of them are coherent but here’s a few of the ideas I had!

It’d probably be more story/dialogue based over anything else, since that’s really the main focus of ATS. I’m not sure if it would be open world or not bc while I have done a lot of worldbuilding for ATS in general that’s more on the lore side and less on the actual landmarks side lol. Could there be lots of places to explore? Absolutely! But that’s never been my strong suit and open world exploration overwhelms me anyway lmao

Now if this were like a mobile game I’d probably say hell yeah gacha elements but if it’s strictly buy one time to play then. I’d say in that case it’d probably be more “choose your own adventure” kind of thing. Like maybe the game would start out with limited character choices and as you play along those game routes you unlock more characters to play and get to branch off into their specific story paths and such.

Sadly this wouldn’t be the kind of game where you’d get to design your own character bc that’s just never something I had in mind for it;; Every one of my OCs is a main protagonist in their own way so I feel like it’d be way more interesting to explore what’s going on in their world through their eyes rather than through an outsiders perspective

As for actual gameplay. I’m still foggy on this tbh lol I mean there’d obviously be a level up/upgrade system in place, as well as some sort of place to farm weapons/equipment. Since ATS takes a lot of inspiration from PMD it would be fun to have a turn-based dungeon crawler aspect of it! And playing as a guild member would let you take on certain mission requests for rewards, and you could fight monsters/enemies as you explore, and that in turn would give you experience. And of course depending on who you play as you can unlock different areas and pathways by using different elemental skills.

I’d probably have to create a whole chain of locked events to unlock the more powerful characters i.e. the Guildmasters and the Grandmasters—I’ve always found that aspect of games a lot of fun where you gotta do all this crazy shit to unlock smth really special. Because the feeling of achieving that is always so worth it!

But yeah fjndndn there’s some basic thoughts I had on an ATS game 😳 Personally I love story driven RPG adventures so it’s right up my alley haha

Tower of God episode 5 Followup

A few things! First: I’ve been informed that what happened with Bam at the end of the Crown Game was a mistranslation. From Snowwhistle: “ When Lero Ro was discussing Bam’s Shinsoo blast, he describes Bam as becoming Shinsoo. This is incorrect. In the manhwa, it’s worded that it was as if the Shinsoo acted of it’s own volition to protect Bam.“ Or possibly a retcon, but without more confirmation we’re going with mistranslation. Second: Episode 4 ended with Stab Happy asking Rachel if it was ok to kill all of them, and Rachel focusing on Bam while saying “of course”. Sooooo...at first I thought that that was just a completely dropped stinger. But actually it’s more of a bait and switch. TECH-NIC-ALLY (I say in a whiny nerd voice) the WORDS of the characters didn’t indicate that they meant “kill Bam”, that was just what you CHOSE to IN-TER-PRET from the camera zoom. But let’s be real, that’s a load of bull. They knew what they were doing. Cinematography is an art and a language and it relies on common understanding to be understood and if you abuse that understanding to lead people into valid assumption you don’t mean you’re just cheap and obnoxious. So yeah, look, the stingers here are kind of ridiculous and I’m going to grade them harshly on it. Asks and comments!

Hmmm. I’m still dark enough on what exactly is underlying all this that it doesn’t mean too much to me. Can’t, as in it’s not allowed, or can’t, as in physically impossible? Don’t answer that though!

I’m sure it does! To be honest I have a hard time focusing on pages though. Anime has sounds and moving images that keep my squirrel brain in one place! Also liveblogging gives me an excuse to actually watch stuff - I’d been so lethargic for years I could barely be bothered to even watch anime - and, hopefully, it provides entertainment for all ya’ll out there too! So I’m keeping to anime-only, spoilers-free =)
