Answers fic Update + Hi im not dead 💖!

Okay more semi-official post because I've been meaning to do this since July but life has been ping-ponging me all around!

Short-Answer (ha):

No, the fic isn't abandoned, I wouldn't dream of leaving it unfinished especially with the point I'm finally at! I have been stuck injured 😭👍

Long-Answer + Explanation:

They aren't playing about that a03 author's curse bro 😭😭😭 I intended to have 43 out by April at the latest, then that became May and eventually June because of my job. Then of course, that goal got pushed further out from personal circumstances that are just now getting sorted. But, most frustratingly and poignantly, I injured my wrist at the start of July. Good news is I have some therapy scheduled for it finally! Bad news is that it took THIS LONG to get into it, and in the meantime I can't physically write or draw for hardly a few minutes at a time and it's reached a point especially in the last month or so where even using a computer mouse or typing exacerbates it. If I had infinite time, that'd be less of a problem, but I've also restarted college so my time, effort, and focus has to be put there first and foremost in the meantime. It's frustrating to not be able to do the things I enjoy in the free time I have, but for now it is what it is.

The Plan + Ideal: I'm down but certainly not out! I'm going to be diligent to get myself back to normal and doing what I love! I have TONS of ideas for both fics and art I wanna do and am clawing at the bars of my cage to start LMAO

Ideally though, I would like to have something ready by the holidays. Maybe even a few chapters on a backlog or something. Regardless though, when that day comes I also have some other fics I was poking at and cleaning up prior to my injury worsening and I think it'd be fun to upload some stuff in bulk! :] I've neglected a few other works for the sake of Answers (pouring one out for WYLTD last updated September 2018 LMAO) and I think it'd be a fun way to do things and also move into the new year!

But I'm rambling at this point! If anyone's read this far TYSM I APPRECIATE IT! 🫶 it hurt my hands to write this much which, knowing my typical word count, says something 😭💔 But I feel good and capable! It's just a temporary set-back and I appreciate the consistent engagement and kind words over all the time I've spent working on this fic thus far! I hope that you don't mind the wait too awfully, but know that it WILL be finished--I'm far too passionate about this story and these characters to simply leave it hanging. I don't like to half-ass anything I do :]

Thinking of opening Commissions!

Ive been thinking about it for a while now but because my school club is being faced with financial problems, I figured this could be a good way to help funnel money to help support my club!

We’re our state’s only Academic Decathlon team and have literally No Funding by our school/district so we’re trying to raise money ourselves!! I’ll have more information later as I get more organized but know that’s where your money is going!! I know some people have been interested in me opening commissions in the past SO! I’ll gladly make some art to help support my club!

Zone Tries to Explain her Sonic AU thing– The actual Worlds P1 (Starting w/ Mobius)

Alright yall its 1:07 am and its tome for ol Zone to attempt to tell most of the important details in my mesh of an AU/Headcanon w/e

So there are technically 3 different Sonic Continuities, the Games, Shows and Comics. In this thing I connect a lot of aspects from all three?? So yeah here we go.

It’d be best for me to start with certain main characters because I tend to build the world off of characters?? Idk its hard to explain but you’ll see

Aight so our Blue Boy and star, Sonic. So, I hc that he is indeed the son of Queen Aleena and Manik and Sonia are his siblings and all that jazz. I think his adventure to finding his siblings and mother would’ve been a good start for adventuring for him as it’d open a whole new world to him. However, once everything is all settled with his fam, I feel he wouldn’t want to stay. Sonic is a free spirit so obviously the Prince and stuffy royal lifestyle wouldnt fit him. So he goes off to make his own life and thus all of his adventures ensue. (Whether he left on good terms or bad with his mom im still not sure abt)

Now most of the things that Ive pulled from the comics would be characters, locations etc. rather than storylines. A majority of adventures are pulled from the games but some world building comes from them as well. An example would be that while the Kingdom of Acorn is fully established (Along with Aleena’s and most likely other to keep balance amongst power n such) Mobius would still also have a very advanced and modern society with cityscapes and vehicles like that from the Riders series. (Hover cars, sky highways, hoverboards, and probably similar things like trains and such) And while it’s a modern and clean society, there’s still a huge amount of untouched natural areas (such as Green Hill and other scenic areas)

So Sonic goes on to join up with the Freedom Fighters, and also goes on his own separate adventures (the ones following the game's’ storylines) with the usual cast we see. (Tails, Amy, Knuckles, etc.

So that’s essentially Mobius!! But now onto the juicy stuff with our lovely planet, Earth. Shadow is a good character to tie into this for obvious reasons.

Zone tries to explain her Sonic AU thing– The actual Worlds P2 (Earth and Mobius Conclusion)

So to explain Earth, I feel like I need to briefly (haha sure) explain ol Shadow. So in year w/e, the Earth and more specifically Gerald Robotnik made the Space Colony Ark, a top secret research facility for the world’s most dangerous weapons and such. G.U.N. also funded good ol Project Shadow to be made on the Ark and thus Shadow. Shadow was made on Earth (sorta, close enough to get the point)

Now in the comics they say that Mobius is like the exact same planet as Earth but with this secret species of mutant animals living on it and like yeah okay sure but Im not going with that. Im going with the idea that Mobius and Earth are, yes, the same planet but from parallel universes, a pair of universes where their barrier has weakened tremendously. So skip to present day. We have seen Sonic and friends on multiple occasions have their adventures in exclusively human locations so Im thinking that after incidents such as the Chaos monster and Sonic and co. make their first big jump into Earth’s uni, humanity realizes, ‘damn, they could help us out.’ Especially with the threat of Eggman seeing a new possible stomping ground for his Empire. So they start hopping back and forth from Mobius to Earth, albeit at first it’s very difficult.

Then Shadow comes in. And with him the ability and new horizon of Chaos powers and Chaos Control. So we all know how SA2 goes and everything continues on as they would’ve in the games, except on the sidelines technology after SA2 is advancing to make travel from these two planets much easier.

So fast forward, Shadow’s joined G.U.N. and Team Dark is well established and they get assignments to help protect the Earth and has also taken it upon himself to help keep Mobius safe when Sonic needs his help or assistance. So both of these planets by the present are thoroughly connected with some Mobians probably taking up residence on Earth and vice versa (though it’s less common since there are more common and more dangerous threats on Mobius)

And that’s Earth and Mobius really basically explained!!!

Mind you, this is the Prime Zone.

Zone attempts to explain her Sonic AU thing– The actual Worlds P3 (No Zone and other Zones)

Now my favorite part comes in, other Zones. Zonic and No Zone as well as Scourge and Anti-Mobius/Moebius most definitely exist and Zonic has a LOT of work on his hands with keeping up with Sonic Prime alone. (ESPECIALLY when he has to clean up resets such as the one that happened in Sonic 06)

When resets happen, most people dont remember it unless told or reminded by Zone Cops, as they’re the ones who make sure that Zones stay in line and dont like break and also make sure that people stay in their proper zones. (*cough* SCOURGE *cough*)

So Im still thinking this over, but idk if I’m going to define a Zone as ‘A Universe’ or ‘A plane of existence’.

Here’s the problem; Earth would be set in another zone if I go by the first definition, but that would be odd and rule breaking because of Shadow. Shadow from Earth is Shadow Prime, as in there are counterparts of HIM in other zones. So that means Mobius Prime and Earth would have to already be intertwined. Yet, if I go by the ‘plane of existence’ definition, you could have multiple universes in one zone which would fix that problem but would also create the problem of possible zones within zones. If you had so many parallel universes, eventually one of them would be able to be their own entity but it’d already be within a zone so you can see the conflict.

Back to No Zone though, I figure it to be extremely modern and advanced out of necessity really. But I feel like sometimes people forget it’s also it’s own fully fledged Zone, albeit, definitely an odd one. It has it’s own society, however big or small it might be. I think of it as a cityscape, most of it being grand and clean but it’s of course not without it’s flaws.

But that’s all I can think fo for the actual world rn!!!! I need to sleep since Ive spent like an hour rambling and writing this ha h a–

7 Seas Poll

Ive been meaning to do this for awhile but have just gotten around to it So I need to know what YOU guys would want to see, here are the options 2 comics, with the first fleshing out how some of the character's are established (Jack, Mikayla, Bernard, Harrison, etc.) but with less of a really solid story but more time to get attached to the characters and learn about them, which would also allow more time to add some mystery to certain characters. This would also give me time to improve the quality of learning to draw the pages and such. Though it'd take far longer to tell both stories. Or 1 comic, with most of those characters already being established (though I can probably work around that with a few like Harrison) and their background being mentioned briefly in the actual comic and being fleshed out fully in a separate document like a FAQ or 'Know the Characters' page. This one would also have more action and a stronger story that's more adventurous. I'd be able to get this story out and start quicker as I already have a pretty solid idea of what would happen.
