Remora fish are known to remove parasites found on turtles and clean them by ingesting scraps of food, feces and plankton on their host. Remoras benefit by using the larger creatures as transport and protection.

I haven't even played the game yet, and I already have a headcanon that the shark people that Boss Finn is in Potionomics use "Remora" as a slang term for employees as a reference to Remora Fish.

If a shark person is calling you a Remora and you don't work for them, they're probably wanting to hire you.

The Common Remora and its host seem to partake in a symbiotic relationship; it does not seem to have a negative overall effect on its host. The host provides the remora with fast-moving water to bathe its gills, a steady flow of food, transportation, and protection. The remora benefits the host by feeding in part on some of its parasites. The common remora's attachment to one host can last for up to three months. During this time, the remora can move its attachment site if it feels threatened.

The remora is a small fish that usually measures between one and three feet long. Their front dorsal fins evolved over time into an organ that sits like a suction cup on the top of their heads. This organ allows the remora to attach to a passing shark, usually on the shark's belly or underside.
