Her illustrations are just a perfect fit for my aesthetics; clean lines & pastel colours. I feel that this book in the series has the least words. It's just my gut feel though so I wouldn't place any bets on it. It is, however, a wonderful introduction to the subject of protecting the environment and perfect for reluctant readers. [Note: Remy is a dear friend who sent a copy of her book to my children from whom I'd have to beg & borrow to read this. 🎉 HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY 🎉 🐘 Star the Elephant 🐨 Rainbow the Koala by Remy Lai . Biggest thanks to Remy for sending over copies for my boys 💕 They may not be eloquent (see next pic) but they loved these books and have reread them over the past few weeks that these have been in our possession 🥰 . I loved both books!! The graphics look simple but as a person who can't draw, I know they're really not that simple. Colour schemes appeal to my aesthetic sense and totally fits with the moods of stories. I love that at end of each story, Remy shared her inspirations and facts of each species' struggle for survival and how each of us CAN contribute even in our daily lives. And while I adore a pink elephant, I was touched more by Rainbow's story because the bushfire mentioned which wasn't that long ago came rather close to home. Your children may love these stories because both Star and Rainbow are children but they will also touch you as parents for just as Star's & Rainbow's mums, are you not concerned for your children's futures?
