So for all my beloved Insta friends who saw that yesterday’s urgent appointment at Special Cases Clinic with my neuro-renal-urologist didn’t go well, this is what’s up... My consultant has said I need my bladder removed entirely if I wish to survive. The operation is extremely high risk, even for someone without my extremely complicated health. There’s a high likelihood I could die on the operating table. But if I don’t do this, I either die if sepsis (a horrible death) or multiple organ failure caused by the sepsis (a really horrible death. I’d have about 3 years to live in a best case scenario, maybe 5 if I’m lucky. But I’d have a terrible quality of life... Guys, right now I’m leaning towards doing the operation. It has serious risks, but it also has massive benefits if it goes right. And if I don’t do it, I die for sure. But if I do go through with it, I still might die. As you can imagine, this is an extremely upsetting time for me and my loved ones rn. Please be kind. I have an urgent appointment at 10am tomorrow with my palliative care consultant and parents at @CityHospice to discuss everything. So the combination of Not Enough Sleep + Recovering From Renal Sepsis +Anxiety About My Hospital Appointment has caused a lovely (hahaha NOT) spasm this morning. Coming around now, but feeling like crap and not particularly looking forward to getting up... blood pressure and SATS are Not Great. Some people think that when you’re going home from hospital, you’re better... in reality, it just means you’re better enough to leave the hospital. This is especially applicable in my case, because I go home to somewhere nursing care is provided 24/7. The hospital actually told me if I’d been going somewhere that wasn’t a nursing home, they’d have kept me in over the weekend. Anyways, I feel like crap but have to get up to go see the dr I’m seeing today... can’t exactly say I couldn’t see him because renal sepsis made me sick, because he’s the dr I need to see about treating/preventing renal sepsis. My dad came to visit me in the hospital yesterday and we spent half the visit cwtching on the bed and reading trashy magazines (the type I only ever read in hospital) and judging people’s outfits 😂 look out @therealgokwan !! I’m so very blessed to have such an incredible, kind, patient, loving man in my life ❤️ my dad is my hero, best friend and guardian angel, and I am so thankful to have him in my life ❤️ Believe it or not, he then went home to look after a poorly mammy, who’s spent all day st the hospital.
