“If they managed to get any snow created, it wouldn’t stay frozen very long. There’s a lot more to the process than wet meets cold.” Zander couldn’t see how it’d work, not without an actual system being installed to maintain all the conditions needed for snow. “I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want another Luxor ski lodge trip. I’m sure if you asked Jack and Lennon, it went flawlessly.” So maybe sarcasm followed by voicing his innate distrust of the former circle members wasn’t the nicest way to share his thoughts. But, he didn’t see the point in beating around the bush. “I think some of our classmates are just trying to avoid the exams, actually. I’m glad your classes aren’t too hard, I wish I was in the same boat.” Okay maybe hard wasn’t the word for it, it was more like his courses took up most of his attention, and forced him to spend time with Jack.  Exhausting might be a better word for it. “It’ll be interesting to see which students score higher. If waiting actually has any impact.”

“Sora, do you have a minute? You have to see what I made!” Maybe Balo was a bit too eager to be believable at the moment, but there wasn’t any other way to cope with what occurred this weekend. And maybe giving Sora a few of her birthday presents earlier would help? At least it’d be a step in the direction of pretending everything was fine, because she was pretty sure it was going to be hard to avoid Ian in the next coming days - and she had absolutely no interest in seeing him ever again. Sure, maybe it’d be a bit awkward with Lucy being his girlfriend but... it wasn’t like they hung out as a group or anything really, anyway. “Just, I’m sorry my room is kind of messy ahead of time. I’ve had both Zander and Ches sleeping on my floor since... it’s been kinda nice though. Like a sleepover!” Although honestly, she wasn’t completely sure they wouldn’t be stepping over Ches to function in her room. But Balo didn’t mind, honestly as selfish as it might sound. She needed the company just as much as they seemed to - even if she didn’t say it. It was easier, knowing that at the end of the day, she could hide and if anyone tried to start something with her - they were both there to scare them away. “But you’re going to love the dresses! It’s only a part of your present, because let’s be real, I had to do more - you’re one of my best friends, but...” She reaches for her friend’s hand, hoping that she’ll come with her.

While Ches knew her day was nothing in comparison to how bad it could be, and that she’d had days so bad that she’d usually laugh at how upset she currently was. But she couldn’t help but pout as she darts over to Sora and wraps her arms around her. “I spilled coffee all over my favorite dress, and my brother laughed at me for being upset because I had a nightmare where Lucy wanted a divorce. Can you believe him?” She knew it was ridiculous to be upset about, but stressing something small was way easier than continuing to think about the message during the Decades dance. “And on top of all of that, I’m not sure I got Elliot enough presents for his birthday. How much do you spend on a guy you’re really serious about? Should I have aimed for $3,000 instead? Maybe we should go shopping....” Still, she doesn’t let go of Sora as she talks, hoping that her friend wasn’t too upset with the fact she needed affection right now.

Even if Balo had asked Zander to hold onto her sewing kit until she felt better, she’d be lying if she said she didn’t miss getting to use it without him hovering over her like a hawk. As she sat in the hall sketching, she glances up with a grin as she notices Sora. “Hey Sora! Can I ask your opinion on something?” She asks, hoping that she wouldn’t mind Balo bouncing ideas off of her. Sora was a fashion icon, if anyone would give her an excellent opinion on concepts she still was only playing around with in her head - it’d be her, or Minnie, come to think of it. “It’s fashion related, but if you’re busy with schoolwork I get it. College has a larger workload, right?”

Ches really didn’t want to discuss last night, or much of anything at the moment, she was actually more than content to spend as little time as she could outside of her bedroom after her run-in with Ian in the common room, opting to skip dinner in exchange for snacks from the vending machine. She was actually in the hallway to grab another water bottle when she spies Sora, and at first she just wants to ditch the plan and dart right back to her room and get back to work cleaning out her closet and avoiding everyone, but she pauses. Nobody could say she was being a bitch if one person had something nice to say after seeing her today, right? “Hey, Sora.” She runs and catches up to the girl quickly. “I’m cleaning out my closet and I was wondering if maybe you’d like to help? I’m debating some pieces so I could use a second set of eyes to figure out what goes into the donation bin.”

“Sora, wait up!” Okay, maybe Zander shouldn’t be trying to hide behind Sora when she probably had enough of her own family drama already, but, he needed a break from his family already and if Grace tried to say something he wasn’t in the mood to deal with, he was pretty sure Sora was more than capable of handling it for him. For some reason, his older sister was especially... cold today, and he wasn’t exactly sure what the issue was, but he wasn’t about to ask her about it either. When Grace was ready to talk, she’d find him, in the meantime though he didn’t want to deal with her attempts to avoid whatever was bothering her. “Do you think it’s too late to skip this and go do a lego set?” The question he’d been asking himself all school year, and yet, every time he still ended up not going to do that.

“I made Lennon one over the summer. I might still have pics if you’d like to see an example! But honestly, I love making flower crowns, so if you want to wear one of mine, it’d be so cool. And we should get together and make them sometimes if you’d like! We could make crowns for Lucy too! She’d be gorgeous in one...” Balo gushes excitedly, hoping that maybe they’d actually be able to. She loved Sora, so the excuse to get to hang out with her and make flower crowns was extremely appealing. “If you start using it there, I can start using it there too, and we can ask Lucy to join in! And Ches, when she starts using her platforms again, hopefully, that’ll be soon...” She was really hoping it’d be soon, at the very least. “Hopefully, that or maybe I’ll be able to go to Sheffield with him? I’m going to make him give me a tour someday.” She hadn’t gotten the chance to really meet Finn yet, so she was hoping to be able to do that too at some point. “I know, but I’m still glad that we’re all together now. I get to go to school with my friends without some silly rivalry trying to tell us we can’t be friends, and I got to make a whole bunch of new friends!” Maybe it was an overly optimistic way to look at it, given the circumstances the schools merged, but now they were one team, all in this together, and they could support each other instead of having to face The Crusade alone. “I just wish The Crusade realized this isn’t the answer.”

"You know if you ever want to put down the épée, you're always welcome to come hide with Elliot and me. If anyone asks, we'll lie and tell them we haven't' seen you all day." Ches offers as she loops an arm with Sora's. "Think about it, the three of us, hanging out with kids and teaching them all about the wonders of acting. What could be better?" There was no hiding just how much she was already loving being a camp counselor. She looked forward to getting up every day to work at her station, plus, having Elliot there felt right. "It's something to consider, at least."
