TUMBLR SCAMMERS ARE NOW IMPERSONATING TUMBLR

GUYS PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
There’s a new scam that has been popular for a few months now and and I don’t see many people talk about it but what I do see is lots of people losing their accounts
It’s happening both on tumblr and twitter (maybe other platforms too but I don’t use anything else). The scammer sends a direct message or a comment if you have dms disabled to “tell you something about your account”. Note: they write from accounts of people they’ve already stolen from so they don’t look suspicious at first! On twitter I’ve gotten some of those even from my mutuals and accounts with bigger following
(@ blurred since I don't want names of innocent people's accounts to be associated with those scams)
They tell you they have “accidently reported your account and you’re gonna lose it if you don’t take action”. They use all sorts of ways to tell you that: they got hacked and thought it was you, they missclicked, they mistook your account for another one etc. They all sound very normal and natural, dms seem to be generated each time- no two messages are the same so you can’t look it up. Then they send you the generated screenshots of emails as a “proof” and give you limited time to take action to stress you into doing something stupid.
Please remember that NO OFFICIAL STAFF WILL EVER BE USING DISCORD FOR THEIR OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE!!! The account names are a dead giveaway as well, the use of X’s and numbers are pretty unprofessional.
Unfortunately I have only one example from twitter as I’ve already blocked the other scammers or the accounts deactivated. But yeah, I’ve gotten a lot of those over the span of past few months and I got stressed the first time I got one as well bcs they sound really convincing at first but I didn't respond and as you can see I haven't lost any of my accounts. So please remember to always be suspicious and look things up on the internet about types of scams or how the official platform deals with those things before giving away your personal information!
Stay safe! :]
@whydousernamesevenexist has been hacked.

Heads up everyone! Scam Warning!
Yesterday afternoon, I got a DM from someone I’ve never met named @depap1. They claimed they accidentally reported my Tumblr blog and apologized, which I appreciated at first. I didn’t expect to get a message like that and it legitimately stressed me out. I filled out a report to Tumblr so fast because I was scared of losing my blog. But then they told me I had to handle the situation through Discord by contacting a “Tumblr corporate security head,” and that’s when the red flags went up.
Tumblr does not handle reports or account issues through Discord. That’s not how any legit platform operates. This is almost certainly a scam designed to scare people into giving up personal info or access.
Another thing that stood out to me is that they never told me the username or the pfp of the account they supposedly confused me with. If it were a real mistake, that would have been the first thing they explained. The vagueness was such a huge red flag. So I didn’t write them back and I just blocked them.
If you get a message like this, do not engage. Don’t click anything, don’t add anyone on Discord, and don’t panic. Just report it to Tumblr and protect your account.
I’m sharing this so nobody else gets caught off guard. Stay safe out there! Screenshots below:
This is 100 percent fake and absolutely a scam.
This is what their blog looks like.
Me vs scammers 2
I think that this person got hacked or smfh
@nickycafe was compromised and whoever has access to the account now is sending report scams, be warned.
The scammer apparently went to sleep or whatever the fuck in my case, but what scammers will send you after this initial message is a fake Tumblr support email saying how the report is going to go through and your account will be banned, then they'll either send a phishing link or tell you to add someone on Discord to send your account's info to.
