God okay this is gonna be a lot probably.
CLEARLY, Karkat’s feelings for Trick are basely negative. Karkat has always been at least a little wary of Trick, and he’s always been scared of and intimidated by him, but he was initially going to at least make some attempt to have a decent relationship with him. Feelings at first fluctuated a lot, but they eventually settled with a lean toward “negative.”
Karkat’s previous call out post was MOSTLY sparked by just intense anger. He was hurt and recovering from dying and Trick was making some pretty provoking posts on the dash, and Karkat was doubly angry on Edge’s behalf because his feelings for Edge are incredibly strong and incredibly protective. So it involves some basic Karkat math. Intense protective feelings for Edge + residual pain and fear and outrage from seeing Edge die and from dying himself = angry rant.
Since then he’s simmered down from “Trick is evil incarnate” back into “Trick is in a lot of grey area but I still have a negative bias.”
First and foremost, Karkat doesn’t trust Trick at fucking all. He knows that Envy (who owns his soul and by proxy owns him, has talked about collaring Karkat, etc) is involved with Trick and getting friendlier by the minute and he really doesn’t trust that and he’s terrified of Trick owning him by extension if he ends up owning Envy. He doesn’t want Envy and Trick to bond closely, because he doesn’t want to be closely tied to Trick like that. He doesn’t want Trick to have irrefutable influence over Envy because ENVY has irrefutable influence over him. (Granted, influence that Envy has said he wouldn’t exploit, but Karkat is pretty sure that Trick could override that if it were the case.)
Furthermore on the same topic: Edge has recently expressed interest in being friends with Trick again and patching things up (which may be over with now, yikes, who knows) and Karkat straight up doesn’t trust Trick with Edge anymore. He doesn’t want Trick to ruin the progress that he’s made with Edge, he doesn’t want Edge to backpedal from all of the plans that he’s made, and he wants Edge to learn to respect himself and not see himself as “beneath” anyone else.
In the end, Karkat isn’t going to tell Edge or Envy who to be friends with. He doesn’t want to give them (mostly Envy) any ultimatums (especially when he would probably end up on the “losing” end of that) and he doesn’t want to even come close to controlling who they interact with. If Edge really wants to be friends with Trick again, Karkat will let him but you bet your ass he’s going to wedge his nose right in the middle of that and MAKE SURE that everything is kept probably completely nonphysical in all aspects. He will be the most aggressive auspice you’ve ever seen, even if they don’t have a negative relationship like they have before. He’ll make sure there’s absolutely no chance of any of that happening. He will be the helicopter boyfriend. The permanent third wheel. The Chaperone. Basically he won’t let them be alone together at all.
Regarding Envy, he basically just prays that nothing happens and if anything ever does he’s going to push Edge as far away from it as possible.
So he’s scared of Trick and he doesn’t trust him. It doesn’t help that he’s now pretty routinely having nightmares about Trick.
But he also sort of sympathizes with him in a way? He understands that Trick doesn’t want to be alone and he speculates that there’s some sort of insecurity at the base of all of this crap that makes Trick fucking terrified of being alone. If Karkat really hunted for the parts of Trick that are vulnerable, he would be overjoyed to level with him about his issues in a non-aggressive way and try to help sort them out (either alone or in collaboration with Davey.)
Like I guess sort of imagine the Davekat relationship in the Game Over timeline of Homestuck? Like, Karkat was very clearly black for Dave but only because he knew that Dave’s front was full of bullshit but (given the differences in the Game Over timeline) didn’t have the access to really get into it with Dave about his problems and Figure Them Out. So, another huge base feeling Karkat has for Trick is just straight up being frustrated that he can’t figure out what’s under the surface and Trick won’t just fucking stop being fake.
A lot of how I play Karkat revolves around him desperately being Everyone’s Moirail because he’s nosy as fuck and he wants to get into everyone’s business.
Uhhhhh this might not really be all of it, but looking over it right now I think this pretty much covers all of the bases. + Bitter and Petty feelings that are more or less a result of The Dash Drama and Karkat’s inability to resolve any of his feelings on the matter.
LISTEN I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE’S TECHNICALLY A LIMIT BUT I HAVEN’T MET A DICK OR DICK-SUBSTITUTE THAT WAS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE!
AND TRUST ME. I’VE LOOKED.
