Can I please request a Harry Warden x Masc!Reader where the reader is a victim of a cruel Valentines day prank? I was thinking that the reader gets lured to the mines, only for him to be dragged into them by the pranksters. Thank you c:
Saw my husband’s name and woke straight from the damn dead. This was all it took for me to write after a year. WADDUP YOUTUBE. Thank you, anon. I hope this is what you were asking for. Accidentally made it pretty gender neutral out of habit..
Breaking My Heart.!
Harry Warden x GN! Reader (they/them pronouns)
Summary: Basically the ask. You get lured into the mines by bullies. Harry handles that though.
Warnings: Slight yandere energy there, bullying
“We'll be together, yes forever, we will never ever part. Oh, you don't know it yet but, baby, I've already got your heart.”
The invitation was found folded into one of the slats of your locker.
No name. No signature. Just a paper heart cut from red construction paper, cheap and uneven around the edges. Signed only with a drawn heart.
“Meet me at the old mine entrance. Midnight. Come alone. ♥︎”
You stared at it longer than you should have, getting shoved as you took up space in the hallway. It was stupid. Embarrassingly stupid. But nobody left you notes. Nobody flirted with you. Nobody bothered with the kid everyone knew was queer. And as much as you didn’t like to admit it, some pathetic part of you wanted to believe someone finally had.
By eleven-thirty you were already regretting your decision.
The road to the abandoned Hanniger mines was nearly invisible beneath fresh snow. It was colder than usual this time of year. Wind cut through your unprepared jacket as you followed the path leading towards the rusted fencing.
The mine entrance loomed ahead like an open mouth. No lights, no people, no romantic scene or cute hallway stranger waiting for you. Just darkness.
You should have turned around there. That was your second mistake. Right after even coming at all. Instead, you pulled out the note and checked it again. Rereading it for what was probably the six-hundredth time since you received it.
A burst of strangled laughter echoed from somewhere behind, sounding like it was trying and failing to be contained. Your stomach dropped immediately, realising it was a ruse. You hesitated turning around, until their footsteps started in, crushing snow, and your heart, with each step.
Three figures stepped from behind a pile of snow-covered equipment. You recognised them easily even in the dark. A name-drop as one jokingly scolded the other for giving them up so early only cemented it. The same assholes who made every school day feel twice as long.
“Look at that,” One of them called. “They actually came!”
Another doubled over laughing, stumbling while trying to keep up.
“Oh my God, they thought someone liked them. I can’t believe your stupid plan worked.”
Heat rushed to your face so quickly, you were sure for a moment you would embarrass yourself further and faint. Your body froze like the grass below your feet, like a deer in headlights. For that second you couldn’t move. Couldn’t even think. But the note crumpled in your fist as they balled up.
“You assholes seriously dragged me all the way out here for this?”
“Come on,” one of them mocked. “Don’t look so disappointed.”
The tallest one held up an object. You squinted.
A flash.
A camera.
Of course. They wanted a reaction. They wanted to show off to the class. Something humiliating enough to pass around school for the next six months.
You side-stepped in an attempt to get past them. It was late and you were embarrassed and not looking for a fight against three. But as you got just far enough to think they were ready to let you go, something shoved your shoulder. Hard. Your boots slipped on ice. The edge of the mine shaft appeared beneath you for a split second before the ground vanished entirely. The last thing you heard was somebody yelling, “Holy shit!”, then you were falling.
The impact stole the air from your lungs, leaving you with a suffocating feeling as you tried to pull oxygen back in through the snow. Pain exploded through your side, starting at your hip, crawling up to your chest. Above, distant flashlight beams swung wildly across the opening. Panicked voices and fast footsteps echoed down the shaft.
You weren’t sure what was happening above you, but you didn’t receive any further assaults. One by one, the lights disappeared. Maybe the hit was unplanned, and the others weren’t expecting it to get this far? The three never typically got physical, although they definitely found other ways to make your life hell. Silence settled over the mine, as you lay there, staring into the darkness. It was hard to catch your breath when every moment sent a pain deep in your ribs, sharp enough to make you almost cry.
Eventually, you managed to sit up. Motivated by the biting cold ground against you. You weren’t numb after all, you could still feel everything. The hurt in your ribs reminded you of that fact. You now had a new black, smoky stain on the shoulder where you’d been hit. What the hell did you get hit with? There was nothing but the camera left with you from what you could see, which, granted, wasn’t much. The lens was shattered, but the flash still worked, serving as your only light source. A fairly expensive mistake on their part. Serves them right. At least they can’t share your humiliation with the school anymore.
Then, a metallic scrape echoed somewhere in the mine that stretched endlessly ahead. Not close. Far enough away that you could convince yourself you imagined it. A trick from pain and exhaustion.
Scrape.
Clang.
Heavy footsteps followed. Slow and measured, getting closer. And for the first time all night, you had forgotten all about the boys who left you there. Because suddenly they weren’t the thing you were most afraid of. You couldn’t see anything in the black tunnels that disappeared into even blacker shadows. You scrambled for that broken camera, the pain no longer an issue.
With a click, you finally got a flash that couldn’t come fast enough.
There was nothing you could see in the distance.
But the footsteps didn’t stop.
You frantically hit the button again and again, looking for the comfort that it was a lost animal or the wind. With the fifth flash blinding you, the darkness vanished for a split second.
A miner’s helmet.
A gas mask.
A silhouette standing far closer than it should’ve been.
The camera slipped from your frozen fingers. When the darkness returned, the panic hit all at once. You twisted, scrambling backwards through the snow like a shitty slasher victim.
“Stay away from me!”
The words echoed uselessly through the shaft. The mines had no answer, and neither did the figure.
It was just one heavy boot.
Then another.
Slow and deliberate. Like it already knew you couldn’t escape. And felt no need to waste extra energy.
You reached again. For the camera, a rock, anything.
A sharp pain shot through your side and stole the strength from your arm. The next flash never came. The mine stayed completely dark.
“No, no no—”
Something moved behind you. A gloved hand clamped over your mouth. Another arm wrapped around your waist before you could scream. You thrashed instinctively, like a caged animal, pain tearing through your ribs. The grip only tightened. Not enough to hurt. Enough to stop you from falling apart. Your heart hammered so fast it felt ready to burst from your chest. The figure behind you was enormous. Solid. Nothing you could fit back against.
Then, from somewhere deeper in the tunnels, came a distant scream. Following by another. Then nothing at all. The arm around you tightened for a brief moment. As if whatever had been screaming wasn’t what you should fear.
Yo who wants a part two?? No one? Just me?
