Time for introductions! We adopted two new rescue bunnies, Poppy and Mabel. They are lionhead dwarf mixes, so they are the same size as Nocs. Mabel is pictured standing. She is very sweet and calm. Poppy is feisty and loves to sprint. I normaly never do this, cause I do not want to bother anyone. But I'm out of options. Recently i've rescued a little bunny togheter with my best friend. Unfortunaly this little bunny isn't feeling well. She has a big abcess inside her tummy and needs an operation. The operation is pretty expensive after selling some stuff here and there we still need a bit more to cover the medical costs and medication. Therefor we've openend a PayPal account. Hellouw hoomins outa there!

Iam really happy now!

At Christmas Eve I ran away from my old home, where the bad hoomins left me alone for days. I ran as fast as I ever ran! Suddenly there was a light and a big thingy with more hoomins inside! I was so scared so I ran away in the woods, but they grabbed me!!I really thought ....that was my last breath.

But suddenly they took me inside, it was warm and cuddly. There I spend some weeks, they were really kind to me! I've never knowed kind hoomins before!

But they said they can't take me forever. They doesn't know anything about bunnies.

I was sad... I thought they might bring me back!

But they don't! First of all there were really strange looking hoomins. My family called them 'vet'

Never heard before...mh.... So I went home again, but then again to the vet!? And owwww they made me really fuzzy in the head...and then I woke up and suddenly there was a cone at my head!????

But then I came home...glad...but I was really angry about that cone thingy!!

After two days I was again sitting in this box...ohhh mean...i thought again vet!?? 🙄

I didn't do anything! Believe me!

But no...my family drove a bit, then..the box was opened and...oh...more hoomins!

I was really scared and they left me alone...with one room of my own??

After some time a hoomin comes to me, and said a wonderful thing!!!!

" Hello Sweety, now we are your family and this is your forever home! You'll never leave us again, and after some time you'll learn to know other buns, and you will never be in a cage again. I promise you"

Then this hoomin snipped away my furr which was stitching in my eyes, now I can see!! And she put some strange thing on me, but Ive don't have to wear that cone, so yeah! ✌

She gave me food and touched me gently...and...i...i.think... I like her.

Hi Guys, Menagerie rabbit in residence Ophelia here! (I'm the white bunny on the top left 😄) Spring is in the air and Easter is right around the corner. I'm seeing lots of people talking about getting a baby bunny for the holidays and I thought it was a good time for a PSA! Did you know Easter is when the rabbit rescues get flooded with unwanted pets? I myself was in just such a situation before I came to live at the Menagerie last June. Rabbits are not an easy pet to care for and we need just as much attention (if not more!) than a dog (did you know we also need to be spayed and neutered just like your canine friends?). Plus we can live for 10+ years! I know baby bunnies are the cutest ever, but impulse buying an animal is never a good idea. If you want to take the plunge and become a rabbit owner, do lots of research first to make sure rabbits are really for you and then go check out your local shelter! But if you're looking for an easier to care for pet, I hear the Menagerie has one or two baby Jackalopes looking to be adopted!
