Started working on Apehlion’s faceup.  Torn because I added a butt ton of glitter but I keep thinking I like the matte version better?  SO I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Like the glitter looks pretty good in person but in photos it just comes off as shiny and plastic. :|

I am falling in love.

This is literally the exact opposite of what I had planned for her. Still thinking of names - looking for something earthy, ephemeral or magical. A name that feels like dappled sunlight in the forest. So far I’m leaning towards Melia/Meliae or Thalia/Thalis but suggestions are more than welcome.

How did you get into BJD collecting?  How long have you been in the BJD hobby?

(Combined questions 1 & 2) Oh jeez - back in like.... 2007?? I saw one online or at a convention or something and fell in love.  There were way fewer options back then but I did a ton of research and stuff and panicked about the money.  I finally purchased my Souldoll Kid Liddell and she arrived December 2009!  

How many dolls do you currently have?

5 Currently, though I am trying to sell one.  I have 1 on the way

Of the ones I physically own, Lillycat Millie Choupie.  Otherwise, my incoming Chibbi Lana would be it!

What is your grail doll?

I already have my grail, Dust of Dolls Appi Meel! There’s no one particular that I’m desperate for right now.

What are your doll plans for this coming year?

Limited. :( Mostly deciding if I need to sell I suspect.  I’ve been wanting Lillycat Ellana for ages though and her releasing a tiny version was something I didn’t want to pass up.  I really would love to get a MerryDollRound Dango but I suspect that I’ll have to pass up the order since it’s coming up soon and I just won’t have the funds.

Which is your favourite BJD company?

Currently, Lillycat and Dust of Dolls but I really love a lot of artist dolls I see posted lately and want them aaaaaall.

What is a must when considering a purchase? (Pose-ability, faceup, age, etc.?)

Sculpt for sure, and then joints/posing.  I actually sold my Doll Chateau Alberta right away because I couldn’t stand the peanut joints.  

From all the dolls you own, which is your favourite and why?

I go through cycles of who I love to photograph but I’d still have to say Leilani.  She’s just so stunning and delicate.  I can’t get enough of her!

Did you learn to do something new because of this hobby? (e.g. photography, painting, sewing)

I wish I had learned more TBH but I feel like now that I’m out of the art field I might actually have time!  I did get into learning how to resin cast because of my interest in BJDs so that’s something I know how to do now!

What is the worst thing about this hobby?

Not even changing what RavensResin wrote because I agree 100%

What is the best thing about this hobby?

I love the people I have met that are sweet and kind and wonderful.  There are some bad people out there but there are also lots of great ones!  Find your community and hold on tight!

Wanted to do a quick test with pink skintone to see if this is indeed, what I’d want (since I would have the option of white and dark tan as well).  But pink is perfect and I don’t think there are any other dolls I want in this aesthetic.  Dreaming Mille and Dust of Dolls Appi Cöti are the only two dolls on my wishlist right now that would cause some problems but I suspect dreaming Mille is a while off and the person who has the only Appi Cöti right now is very very unlikely to sell her!  So I think I’m gonna cave and get this girl.

She might become Andromeda as well since I never did shell the unicorn littlefee version.

Edit: I might end up going with Lillycat Gabriel if she's msd size.
