Why its good to practice Minimalism as a student
In 2017 I took a massive journey into minimalism, and it’s really helped my grades improve. Being a minimalist doesn’t mean buying nothing or getting rid of everything and living in a van. It means getting rid of physical and mental clutter to focus on the things that matter, like studying or travel. Here’s a few ways it can make your life better.
You have less crap so you’re going to be cleaning a lot less
It prevents you from over packing when you move into a dorm or go on a trip.
If you cut down your wardrobe it help you pick out clothes quicker in the morning and you waste less time picking out an outfit.
Cutting down your wardrobe and keeping items that go well together will also make you appear more put together to your peers, teachers, and yourself. You will feel like less of a slob most days if you struggle with that.
You’re making less impulse purchases so you’re not wasting money
and instead you have more money for all of those books and supplies, or necessities like food.
There’s less visual clutter in your living space, which can be a lot less distracting.
Countless other ways
Here’s how you can start:
Make a capsule wardrobe, get rid of all the stuff you’ve never worn and sell it.
Get rid of things you don’t really use anymore, or if it doesn’t mean anything to you. This includes all that shit your ex gave you that you’re holding onto or just some craft supplies you said you would use three months ago but its done nothing but collect dust. Just bring it to Goodwill.
Get rid of people in your life that are discouraging and toxic.
Cut out all the junk food from your diet.
Start focusing on your goals and what you want to experience. Bottom line this is what minimalism is about.
