Reflections and Reintroductions

Happy New Year!

Ree here! It's been quite some time since Charlie and I have updated this blog, and so much has changed and is going on behind the scenes.

    Most likely, you don't know us. 

     Charlie and I started “Charee” back in 2014 with the idea of just making whatever we wanted, whether it was making animated/gaming videos on youtube or making prints on Society6. We were two bored people wanting to play games and talk about tv shows. 

     We started out making really silly animated videos that were intended to look like really bad Windows Paint characters. Those took us a long time to create because we were learning how to make them as we were animating them (haha). They were what we called the “prototype” of Charee. We didn't intend for them to be high quality as we just wanted to see where to go with them. But as time went on, we started wanting to push the limits a bit and aim for a better output. However, this meant that even more time and effort was put into the creation of the videos over the amount of content uploaded (meaning an enormous backlog remained on our computers that has really never seen the light of day lol). 

     We stopped after only making a few videos because we had other responsibilities that required our attention. Basically the videos we didn't know how to make were consuming too much time, unsurprisingly. I decided to take time to learn how to use different programs and experiment with different forms of animation before continuing. We even planned out different series for our channel during this time. This was going on throughout 2015 while I spent time learning how to better edit videos and kind of come up with a way to animate our MS Paint (they were not actually made with MS Paint) characters. 

    We returned to uploading videos on our channel on our anniversary, which happens to fall on Halloween. (The actual upload went up like a couple of weeks after Halloween, but we always ended up uploading late anyway lol (Time consuming, as previously mentioned)). That video was so much fun to make and is currently the only animated video up on our channel. For quality reasons, I privated the first animated videos as I figured we should completely revamp the channel. After that we started releasing gameplay videos of Terraria (albeit silly, and poorly recorded), which is something we had wanted to do for a while. We managed to upload throughout November and December and even started the year by uploading a New Years video. In that video we kind of mentioned wanting to upload regularly. That...was the last video we uploaded in 2016. LOL. 

   2016 ended up being one of the most hectic years for the both of us. I got hired for a full time job and Charlie had to balance a part time job and school. That and other circumstances intervened and prevented us from editing and uploading (I won't bother you with specifics). 2017, however, had provided us with a bit more time so we've begun uploading again!! And it has been incredibly exciting to say the least. Another reason why we originally started making videos and uploading to Youtube is because we wanted to learn how to animate and edit. I have been trying to up the quality of our videos for a while and I've been learning how to do so many different things. It's been a blast to say the least. We've basically started from scratch and we're kicking off with a brand new mindset. 

    So, dear Reader, we invite you to check out our videos and take a look at our art if you so please. Our names are Charlie and Ree, and together we're Charee! We're still learning how to edit, animate, create, and are working hard to improve. It's been a lot of fun to do so these past few months. We don't know exactly how often we're going to end up uploading, but we definitely can say you'll be seeing a lot from us in the following years. Thank you for reading and checking out our socials.
