I remember protests. Marches. People shouting down the system. “Defund the police!” they cried. And yet now, driving by night, I see officers everywhere—working, stopping cars, facing risk after risk. No fanfare. No applause.

And still... they’re painted as villains. Every stop becomes an accusation: racism, sexism, bias. The truth? Sometimes you're just speeding.

We’ve built a society obsessed with isms—until the very idea of justice starts to fracture. One crime, two standards. One law, many definitions.

What happened to responsibility? To knowing that at 12, you could already know right from wrong? That a crime is a crime—no matter your age, your colour, your background?

We talk of rights, but not of duty. And the police? They’re caught in the middle. Disrespected, overburdened, politicized.

You want change? Start by restoring respect. Teach manners, teach structure. If an officer stops you, you respond with dignity.

Justice must be blind—but society has to open its eyes.
