The new “sleep nook” for servicemen, adjoining their lounge at Grand Central Terminal, opened at midnight on March 9, 1944, and immediately made a hit with tired troops in transit. The nook contained 75 steamer chairs and blankets and was open daily from midnight to 6 p.m. Sleepy soldiers and sailors filled the comfortable "berths." The Travelers Aid Society of New York sponsored the nook for naps between trains and for those servicemen who could not find hotel accommodations.

I got this idea from a new follower on my instagram. I would have never drawn Karlach if not for their comment! ✨💖🥰💖✨ I’m super happy with how this turned out. I’ve never play baulders gate 3 even though I’d really like to someday. I know nearly nothing about the game. I picked the background area because it looked cool when I was searching for references. Oh and scratch is cute so I had to work him in… 💖🐶💖
(Well, there is a man here.)
(This time, he’s not behind the tree. he’s sitting by a campfire, warming his hands.)
(He looks at you, and gently beckons you over.)
Well, hello again, little one! How
nice it is, to see you again.
Or maybe we have never met before.
I forget many things, even myself!
Well, I don’t suppose that matters now.
Come, little one, have a seat.
(He pats a stump next to the one he’s sitting at, smiling gently.)
Well, the time has been rough,
or maybe it hasn’t.
I do not really know, but I can tell
you are tired.
come, rest with me a moment,
here by the fire.
I do not have a
story
or a
ramble
for you this time.
just
rest.
