104-3123 - Spoons again

On this day we went into Bury St. Edmunds to buy a coat for my wife’s birthday and had lunch first. Wetherspoons is cheap and simple so we picked that – we sat in almost the same spot as when we were there in December 2022 (see sketch No.69-2267), so I sketched the same scene. My sketching style hasn’t changed a bit…though I think I captured the scene better this time? Mon-19-May-2025

89-2744 - Father’s Day

This sketch is slightly out of order – but it was waiting in my sketchbook for some paint. I did this one when my wife and I went out for lunch on Father’s Day to our favourite restaurant, the #WabiSabiNoodleHouse in Makati. This place has lots of delicious varieties of (vegetarian) ramen noodle soup – plus the restaurant is paired with the Ikigai Kakigōri Cafe. Kakigōri is a Japanese shaved ice…

- Drawing trip and a catch up in one - (Two weeks ago) The city where I lived for a good 3 years, studied and have lots of great memories of it in general. I'm always excited to go back and check out some of the old places! So we started by checking out retro games and retro toy shops (Leicester has a few nice places like that (⁠✪⁠㉨⁠✪⁠) ). Then our first drawing location was @stmartinscoffeeshop . Followed by @firebugbarleic for a drink and games. Then we moved to @sonrisa_restaurant to try sketching again, but of course catching up took priority. I haven't seen one of my uni friends in probably half a decade at this point... And lastly it was my first time at @metal.monocle for a local gig experience, drinks and play pool, and drinks?...
