AU where Ernesto ends up as NRC's headmaster

Ernesto met Crowley on the streets and planned to scam him (it worked very well) and once he realizes that THIS is NRC's headmaster he goes "man I hate these students but honestly they could do better. look at this guy." And then he just like. Scams Crowley out of his position somehow. ("Why, you're the most hardworking, thoughtful, generous man I've ever met! Surely you're some sort of celebrity? Can I get your autograph? Ignore everything else on the paper I was taking notes from you (: You have so many wise words")

It's chaos for the entire school. "THAT GUY LITERALLY ALMOST TURNED US INTO PUPPETS" vs "AT LEAST HE'S ACTUALLY DOING STUFF." Half of the student body wants to beat him up on the spot. The others find it funny or simply do not care™ (the old guy was weird too)

Ernesto is going out of his way to help the less fortunate students and starts accepting mages with less magical talent. He makes sure Gino is enrolled to get a basic education, and takes use of the library to learn about magic himself. If you badmouth the headmaster you get bonked by the hammer.

Because of his time managing Playful Land, Ernesto has some knowledge on how to run an organization, but despite his showmanship, it's clear he's WAY out of his league. What do you mean the Ramshackle prefect is from another world but summoned by the Dark Mirror and is now technically my responsibility? And they're one of the people I almost turned into a puppet? Whoops. That's awkward. BOY I forgot how insufferable some of these kids are. Community service 🫵 Do NOT give me your pity I would rather die. Hang on, there's been HOW many overblots this year? Holy-- GINO I THINK WE'RE IN TOO DEEP.

Crowley is forced to hide out in Ramshackle until it's all over and is whining the whole time about how the world is so cruel to kind people like him idk. The staff kindaaaa wants to reinstate Crowley but the more he whines the more convinced they are that they just need an entirely DIFFERENT headmaster. (Enter Skully's ghost? Lilia? Marja? Lucius? Who knows but it's even wilder than before.)

WE WERE SO ROBBED OF ERNESTO AND YUU INTERACTIONS AAAAAAAAAAAAA

I know Yuu is pretty much a blank slate for the player. BUT. The canon foils are just too fun. Ernesto, who does have magic even if his reserves are low, tried his absolute hardest to get accepted into NRC and failed every time. Yuu, absolutely magicless, got dragged there without applying. Ernesto and Gino are always on the move. Yuu and Grim are tied to NRC because they have no where else to go.

Idk, I just think if Ernesto "money makes the world go round" Foulsworth found out about cheapskate Crowley using the dirt-poor, magicless student from another world to solve all of his problems, he might see more of himself than he'd care to admit.

Anyway if you have fic/comic recs like this, please let me know because I would love to read them!!

(ALSO -- ERNESTO BROKE THE FOURTH WALL??? That alone would be crazy to play with. (Just how much does he know?) I get why he wouldn't talk about it in front of the other students, but STILL. It could be so fun to play with the concept of Yuu being a puppet for the player; whenever there's a main story or event, the player hijacks Yuu's body and makes all the choices for them.)

Stupid AU idea but I need to get it out of my head or I WILL go insane

Yuu (Anzuu? Anzyuu?) did it -- she finally made it out of Twisted Wonderland. There's just one hitch.

She ended up in Ensamble Square. That is to say, hell.

Realizing she's not quite home, Yuu jumps on the opportunity to become a producer and earn some cash while trying to get her barings. Said barings are far harder to grasp when everyone she meets seems to be absolutely insane.

Meanwhile, Yuu's sudden disappearance in Twisted Wonderland has left the students questioning where she had gone. So when they find a spell that will bring them to her, they leap on the opportunity.

Ensamble Square grew inexplicably overnight. Twenty-two new faces were found lying on the grass with no memory of where they came from or who they are. The only person who seems to recognize them is Yuu.

And then the drama sets in.

the day you saw Nice Arneb Thudner for the first time, you mumbled one among many of unintelligible phrases. This one just so happened to be one Nice Arneb Thunderrr understood perfectly.

"He can Nice Arnab rock my Thunder," you said as he passed. Beside you, your two friends snickered so fiercely that they almost dropped their water cups.

The man in question faltered mid step and glanced back at you. His eyes were wide. A strand from that streak of blue hair fell in front of them. It was captivating. They were the same alluring color that threatened to drown you like the ocean. and byaby. You wouldn not mind being drowned in that water.

"Ayo baby you fr about that?" He made the sonic gif expression. (You know the one.)

You stood ramrod straight. "heh. oh. you heard that one."

"It was pretty... ﾝイス (NISU)." [TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: this is 'nice' in katakana :)] He stuck out his tongue.

"Oh do NOT fumble this one," one of your friends (ME!!!! self insert moment hehe 🤭) said.

the other friend started coughing fiercely as she continued to laugh, and she excused herself to refill her water.

YoU approached him and stroked her chin. "so uhhhh you wanna go make out."

"frick yeah I do." Then he grabbed you by the waist and gave you a hot kiss on your hot mouth cause he was feeling MIGHTY romantical. He pressed you against the wall heedless of the idols passing by and snapping a million phtoos. Kaoru started crying and Rei held him close because his homie is so bad at rizzing up people that someone with the name 'Nice Arneb Thunder' could somehow bag a partner before him.

"welllll I think we outta skidaddle out of here," Nice said by your ear. "Heh. I'm an important guy and all. Can't have too many people watching."

Then he picked you up and whisked you off out if sight. And ooooooh boy was your thunder rocked that day.

VAMPIRE VIL SCHOENHIET: (Please excuse the lips, they gave me so much trouble.)

I left a lot of Vil's design the same despite the time skip! He strikes me as a very consistent person, and I figured his brand/image would remain largely the same. Also I was referencing his model a lot so 💀 The biggest difference are the twin scars on his neck from when he was turned.

Yeah ngl I gave up after a while because his mouth got too hard. I am simply an amateur your honor 😔 Maybe I'll come back to it.

Anyway! Rook's hair got longer (and I tried to draw it tied back but I'm... Not sure what to make of the look? It's giving Paul Revere) and the scars on his neck are more jagged. I'm realizing now I would've given him different eyeshadow, but live and let learn!

Hi sorry I'm gonna talk about my fic for a second 🙏

Fae, Legal Documents, and Vampires (Oh, My!)

It’s been four years since she graduated, and Yuu still hasn’t found a way home. That would be fine -- if she had any legal documents, anyway. But Crowley never did the paperwork. The solution? Hire Rook Hunt to find Lilia Vanrouge. With any luck, Yuu can strike a deal to set everything right. The bonus problems? Rook is his usual(?) self, Yuu is hiding her true intentions, and Vil -- her ex -- is haunting the same valley that Lilia is in. OR

Yuu wonders if returning home is worth losing everything she's known for a second time. Drama with vampires, the fish mafia, and a certain puppeteer ensues.

CHAPTER TWELVE IS (FINALLY) DONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️

That put the fic over 60k! I had guessed that the fic might be 65k in total but now I know that's entirely impossible and might crawl it's way closer to 80k-100k. I've been itching to write a OUAT AU for TWST so it is fr taking all my will power not to skip ahead. Enstars is also slowly sinking its claws into me. I want to combine them all lowkey 😔

Hey! If you want a Twisted Wonderland fic where Vil and Rook are vampires, Yuu is trying to get home after 8 years in Twisted Wonderland, the Fish Mafia is the Fish Mafia, and Rook (eventually) overblots, then allow me to introduce you to my wip!

Idk what Ernesto is doing to me but anyway. I got another fic idea. Someone stop me before I actually write this.

Okay. Two Yuus.

Yuu 1 ends up at NRC. The normal shenanigans ensue.

Yuu 2, however, wound up on the streets. Having absolutely no idea where they were, they could only beg on the streets and pick up all sorts of low-paying odd jobs. They were half-starving and homeless.

Something that Ernesto Foulsworth and Gino could relate to, of course.

They take a chance and hire Yuu 2 onto the staff of Playful Land. (I haven't decided whether or not Yuu 2 would be honest about coming from another world or not since frankly the idea sounds absolutely ridiculous to them too, given no one can confirm it.) Either way, it's pretty obvious that Yuu 2 has very little knowledge about Twisted Wonderland, which, you guessed it, Ernesto and Gino can relate to, given their lack of schooling. The three of them might feel stupid but at least they feel stupid together.

Time skip a few months. Playful Land is at Sage Island. NRC students are invited. And Yuu 2 is in the middle of their shift when they recognize Yuu 1 as someone from their world -- friends, family, enemies, it doesn't matter. They just know that if Yuu 1 stays, they WILL get turned into a puppet, and that's not a possibility they are willing to entertain.

Yuu 2 runs up to Yuu 1 and tells them "You have to leave. Immediately. Get your friends out if you can. Don't tell anyone why you have to go. And don't tell anyone that I told you."

For the sake of a juicer plot, though, why would Yuu 1 leave Playful Land? I mean, it's finally a break from all the Overblots and random side quests Crowley sends them on. Haven't they earned a break? Who cares if the that Fellow is a little shady. It's just long overdue karma. They feel like they finally fit in. Besides -- can they even trust what they saw? Maybe their mind is just playing tricks on them; maybe they just imagined someone they knew asking them to leave Twisted Wonderland and go back home. Ah, if only they could. (That, or maybe they were just too far from shore, or no one wanted to leave, or all three.)

When the attendees start turning into puppets, Yuu 2 realizes that Yuu 1 and their friends are still around. Yuu 2 does their best to save Yuu 1 at all costs from becoming a puppet (the NRC kids don't matter all that much in comparison, but they matter to Yuu 1, so, DRAMA).

Then Yuu 2 has to grapple with the idea of betraying Ernesto + Gino's trust (the only two people they have had in this world)(plus, when you're doing business that shady, you gotta just learn to trust each other. sharing the guilt too) in order to save the only other person who could possibly understand them in full. (And are they jealous that Yuu 1 got a home at a magical school and explanations about the world around them is? yes.).

There's also a fun concept that Yuu 1 and Yuu 2 will want the other around no matter what happens after Playful Land. You could, in theory, walk through a wall if every single atom lined up just perfectly, but the chance is so infinitely small that it probably wouldn't happen. So the fact that TWO people from the same world made it into Twisted Wonderland mean there has to be a way home.
