Biblical justice seeks to restore dignity and autonomy to those who have been unjustly deprived of access to sufficient resources in order to meet their own basic needs for physical survival and human fulfillment. God acts to reconstruct shalom by overthrowing oppressive powers and setting victims free, and by healing the destructive legacy of sin and death. To know this God is to learn about the meaning of justice. To love this God is to join in God’s great campaign to restore justice to the world.

I’m fortunate in that I have clients who are concerned about my health and well-being after I’ve provided them with healing and restorative services. “How do you take care of yourself?” is a question I get asked quite a bit. Honestly it’s taken me some time to get to a point where I implement practice that restore and recharge my energy.

First I had to start listening. I listen to my body. What does my body need in this moment? What feels good? What doesn’t feel so good? My body is constantly talking to me and informing me of how to best serve it so that I can be better connected with myself on all dimensional levels.

Sometimes my restorative practice comes in the form of my very own sound bath, sometimes it’s taking a nap on the hammock or giving myself a reiki session. Sometimes my practice involves sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing and watching hours of reality television.

No matter the practice I take the time to head the call that my body is sending.

I occasionally wrote my original #truecrime content but I never glorified violence or encouraged it. I know this is an automatic message but it hurts my heart that lobbying for #humantreatmentforall, #rehabilitation, #secondchances and #restorativejustice was put in that bag. Shame on #tumblr for how they have been treating their users this year. This is the end of an era for me.
