Best weekend ever! What a blast my first convention was at Supanova! Thought I’d go through what happened in the last two days. Just saying, this post gonna be long so leave if you don’t like long posts lol
Day one:
Group Photo
I was shaking so hard and literally was so short between them, I felt so small.
Troy literally tilted his head down to look at me and said “Hey there!”
Nolan was like “How you doin?”
*INSTANTLY DIED*
I was so embarrassed by the end of it because we had to take the photo THREE times because of my stupid glasses.
Ran away after because I was so scared and embarrassed lol
Then came time for Autographs!
Before it was my turn though, I really took in the fact that the boys gave at least a few minutes to each fan to talk to them and interact with them and that made me admire them so much for giving time to each person without just signing and saying Hello and bye!
Nolan
When I went up to him and gave him my name and he was like “Yes your Shyami but your also Shy-Ami!”
He literally called me Shy-Ami for the rest of the weekend lol
I went on to tell him that I was a massive fan of his and Troy’s and also thanked him for creating such a beautiful community for so many people
We started just talking about the youtube community and how incredible the community of Retro Replay has grown! He also said it’s so great that making content without a head boss is amazing lol
He went onto say that though it is scary to bring new ideas to the audience it was still great to see where they went (He said I’d understand because I told him I was a content creator myself)
I apologised to him and told him I hadn’t been to the Live Chats in a while due to Uni and he asked who I was. I told him and then he just smiled widely and said: “ohhh I remember you very well!”
I was like Wait you do? And he was like yes of course! I started shaking and had tears in my eyes (literally covered my face and my body went inwards) and he just crossed around the table and hugged me tightly!
He then said quickly “Yes study hard - BUT COME BACK TO THE CHATS! Write that you met us here and we’ll see it and msg back!”
We said our goodbyes and he said: “Take care of yourself and keep working hard!”
Then comes Troy!
I mean this man, I just have to say it is so mesmerising. I mean Nolan is like a father/Favourite Uncle you get along with but Troy I mean - He is so beautiful
So I went up, said hi and then said the same thing I said to Nolan to Troy
But as I was saying Thank you, he stopped mid writing my name, and looked RIGHT INTO MY EYES as I spoke and i literally forgot how to say “community” lol!
He was like thanks man! He was so chill
He also talked about youtube and loves the community. I asked if he may remember who I was and he was like omg yes! Remembered me from donating during the Die Hard Christmas episode
Troy said thank you for the support I said thank you for everything and we literally just looked at each other for a minute then I was like CAN I HAVE A HUG PLS? And he just smiled and said “Come and give me a squeeze”
GAHHHHHHHH BEST FIRST DAY OF CONVENTION
Day Two:
Started off with Troy’s Panel
Literally was so amazing and chill
He spoke about how he loved Melbourne and the people but hated how we suddenly god Day Lights Savings so he lost one hour sleep lol
But seriously the whole panel was so beautiful, he was so kind and was talking about how each of us were worth so much and deserved every opportunity we came across and to always say yes to them. And tbh I’m so glad I went along to see him at the panel because I really needed to hear some encouraging words recently
It also led him into doing the Joker laugh which sent the crowd wild! LOVED IT!
He literally went on too many tangents and ended up only answering three questions lol! But we all loved it anyway! I knew it was going to happen lol
Solo Photos
First was Nolan and I literally walked in and was like “Hey Nolan!“ and he was like “Hey great to see you again!“
Said goodbye and he said “See you Shy-Ami!”
Rolled my eyes HARDCORE but laughed
Then was Troy! He also said “It’s good to see you again!”
After the photo he said “Thank you my love!”
*COULDN’T ACTUALLY BREATHE, COLLAPSED INTO ANOTHER GIRL’S ARMS OUTSIDE WHO I BECAME FRIENDS WITH AT THE TB PANEL LOL
Nolan’s Panel
Was very different to Troy’s, more about answering questions and seeing that everyone had a turn
Said he missed Uncharted but said he’s enjoying the idea of the Studio working with Tom Holland to create prequels to the games instead of actual remakes of the games into movies.
I asked a question and he was like “Hey shyami!”
The Mic guy was like “You-You guys know each other”
Nolan: “SHY-AMI! Yes we know each other we met yesterday and today!”
Me: Oh god okay! Since I’m a massive fan of you and the show, I wanted to know what does Uncle Noly really know?
Nolan: Uncle Noly knows everything Shy-ami!
Literally spelt my name out to the crowd!
Nolan: S-H-Y-A-M-I Shy-ami! And he knows not to wear underwear on a date!
Everyone busted out laughing
He talked a lot about the show! And talked about how he loved how the community created memes out of him and Troy especially with the songs, the whole Uncle Noly and Annus memes lol
And it wouldn’t be a normal panel without Troy running in lol
They talked about the show and some other things about Melbourne
I ran into Nolan before I left (Troy was in the midst of packing and I didn’t want to bother him because he seemed tired) and literally said you must be so sick of seeing my face but I just wanna say thank you for coming to Australia and for this amazing experience
He shook his head and hugged me so tightly
Nolan: Not at all I’m not sick of you at all! It was so lovely to meet you! Can’t wait to hear more from you in the Live Chats!
Seriously, its been such a beautiful weekend! I had a blast at my first convention but most importantly with the boys who literally make me smile all the time, either when playing their games or watching their show. I admire them so much more after meeting them, they are so down to earth, and I cannot wait to see what success comes their way because they deserve it! THANK YOU SUPANOVA!
