Privacy

The Decentralized Way

The decentralized nature of the Retroshare network requires information progressively flow through friends as they connect to each others. This happens for instance to Retroshare forums and channels, where subscribers propagate interesting topics to their friends making them more popular per se.

This encourages you to set things in motion and let the network silently handle them: send messages to your friends, start downloads, subscribe to channels - and let Retroshare worry about it in the background. You can even read your new messages offline, as most content is locally cached for you to access when you want to.

Secure Anonymity

Retroshare's security comes from using a set of communication algorithms that provide anonymity beyond your own friends: file transfer is ruled by a Friend-2-Friend routing algorithm, decentralized chat is made possible by an anonymous message routing method.

Retroshare's decentralised model means there is no central authority to remove content. As described by Wikipedia [2] , Retroshare "... makes it difficult to intrude and hardly possible to monitor from an external point of view." This makes government monitoring and prosecution impossible beyond the will of Retroshare users.

First there was an idea, that information could be truly free, that we can be free to make informed choices about how our society is run. That Anonymous would provide the information that keeps the world ignorant of the abuses of those who control our society keeping us in servitude whilst funding wars based on lies that created enemies between the peoples of the world who had nothing to fight about. Anonymous through a collective conscious decision created the Tyler Network for releasing information that is already growing like a virus. Many tens of thousands of encryption paths have been created, the network having grown experientially has created an insurmountable problem for government agencies who have sought to control the internet to maintain its control over information. Tyler was needed because there is no country in the world that the press is not state controlled, it is a fallacy to think press is free and that information  reported even slightly resembles what really happened. Every government institution and corporation now has a marketing department and relationships with the media acting like a mini Ministry of Truth spinning corruption so that citizens are being turned into slaves to a corrupt minority who are allowed to live outside the law and on the backs of those it has enslaved in to this system. CCTV, Online snooping, Credit Card Purchases, Facebook… are all becoming further control mechanisms for monitoring you, assessing what risk you might represent to countries who have developed expensive and unnecessary defence programs.

No More Secrets

Tyler is here and it’s working. Anonymous are growing the network aggressively testing the system and will prepare Tyler for the citizens of the world to use on mass. Before then we will work on seeding the network preparing the way using our skills to protect non-technical citizens from making mistakes that might expose them to the draconian laws which are applied to activists but seemingly not paedophiles (paedophiles don’t challenge authority, so the authorities ignore them and that is why Anonymous hunts them).

Tyler is at the very start of it’s initial phase, building the network, spreading the information, learning as we go to ensure that the system is safe and secure for our brothers and sisters outside the collective. We will feed what we have learned into a revised version of RetroShare, making it more secure and user friendly so that it can start challenging Facebook and other government controlled systems.

Misinformation

Within hours of launching Tyler Facebook declare all links related to Tyler as Malware. During the launch their were a number of individuals trying to spread disinformation about the Tyler Project whilst pretending to be Anons. This is to be expected. As Tyler grows, corporations and governments with have their paid armies of propaganda merchants and controlled media spreading lies and disinformation about Tyler. Luckily Tyler is too big already to be controlled by one group, to widely used to be misrepresented. They have already lost, since Tyler will grow like a virus, the network mutating as it spreads, improving as it reacts to new attacks on the network.

How to set up Tyler

Here is a quick video on how to set up Tyler, it requires a few steps to ensure that users are protected, unlike Facebook which gladly exposes you to others without any consideration to the harm it causes.

Tyler belongs to know one person or group. Each person who contributes to the network is no more important than an another. Tyler is another example of how Anonymous ideology when implemented can be an improvement on the pretence of democracy we have today.

Ökad säkerhet - vid torrentanvändning

Vi har tidigare pratat om F2F (Friend 2 Friend) klienten RetroShare som skapar ett DarkNet med bara ett par enkla klick. Nackdelen där är då som sagt att dels blir filutbudet aningen skralt och för att det ska fungera vettigt så måste du övertala dina vänner att haka på och hoppa i båten. DarkNets är generellt sett det som ger bäst skydd för insyn från snokiga klåpare på nätet, men det finns ett par andra alternativ som kan vara värda att ta en titt på. Just idag så ska vi kolla på hur man tunnlar en torrentklient genom IPredator, en VPN-tjänst utvecklad i Lund av folk med kopplingar till Piratbyrån. Vad som sker när man använder IPredator är att, lite förenklat, man får tillgång till en ny IP-adress som gör det svårare att se vem som gör vad och vad ens vanliga IP-adress är. Det här skapar givetvis inte total anonymitet, men det är ett bra första steg för att göra det oattraktivare att rota runt i just din dator.  Den torrentklienten vi kommer använda är qBittorrent, som är utvecklat för att vara ett alternativ till µTorrent som är den vanligaste klienten. qBittorrent är helt gratis, och har en mindre anonymiseringsfunktion inbäddat i sig som man kan välja att aktivera men som i sig inte är tillräcklig för att att anonymiseras, den gör det bara aningen svårare att vaska fram informationen. Det är givetvis bra, men vi siktar på lite högre säkerhet.   

Efter att du tankat ner qBittorrent så är det då dags att skaffa sig ett IPredator-konto. Det gör du här, och hur du ska göra för att komma igång hittar du här. Installera sedan qBittorrent…. Done. Det är faktiskt allt du behöver göra för att öka säkerheten vid nedladdning av lagliga filer, eller allmän surfning. Nästa steg är att sluta använda google och börja med duckduckGo. Varför det är så viktigt ska vi titta på i dagarna.  IPredator kostar 15 euro/3 månader, vilket i dagsläget betyder cirka 45kr/månad för att vara anonymare på nätet, klart värt att skippa en öl/månad för.
