My Current Problem With YouTube: Demonetization & ‘Reused Content’... What Does The Future Hold?
Hello everyone,
Serenity Sounds has just been slammed with a false claim of “Reused Content” by YouTube.
Since 2016, I have been monetized by YouTube. This allowed me the time and energy to create Meditation Music (which is my passion). I woke up to an email on April 30th stating I was no longer monetized due to the policy of ‘Reused Content.’ This obviously effects my channel and ability to create music on a social platform, which takes a considerable amount of time. I want to create the best content I can possibly create for everyone listening; monetization allows for me to have that open availability to create music and art. Each video takes me about a month to produce, as stated, I just wish to create the best content I possibly can.
Furthermore, on my YouTube page, I have zero copyright strikes and zero community guideline strikes. I follow every rule possible that YouTube provides. I was also removed by a YouTube employee, not a bot, which makes this process even more difficult since this was not a mistake. They are incredibly vague in their descriptions and explanations. I’ve asked many questions and they’re still unanswered.
Additionally, I provided them video evidence with commentary explaining how I create my music and the originality of it; this is video evidence of me recording a song, describing all my creation methods. Apparently, this was not enough. They simply resend the same email, the same policy, with a link to their help center providing no actual description about any sort of issue my channel is causing.
I’ve never ‘Reused Content’ as I do not involve myself with products or third parties whatsoever. Every composition is original and created in Logic Pro X using MIDI software & hard work. But I am a relatively small channel, so my voice is not exactly effective and I am not a YouTube employee in anyway.
What Does The Future Hold?
At this point, I am not entirely sure. My music is simply my lifestyle. Serenity Sounds has been the source of allowing me to move forward in life and to help others as well. I have just moved out for the first time in my life due to Serenity Sounds and now I am frantically searching for a way to pay rent without a car or a job (not playing victim here, just explaining this huge unfair inconvenience). Unfortunately, I don’t know if I will the time to create music that I love to compose because I’ll be busy trying to find a new path: (unless YouTube decides to re-monetize my channel).
I am attempting to remain optimistic during this time. I understand that I am not the only YouTube creator being slammed with false claims as of recently. However, I’ve proven my point with video evidence so all I can do is continue to keep in touch with YouTube; though, that hasn’t been useful so far. If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading,
- Serenity Sounds
