Rev!ShapeShifter (AKA Shafer)
Ah, I finally got to making a reference sheet for ShapeShifter or Shafer as I like to call him. I can't wait to draw him more and build up his personality in the comic I'm planning. :3 AU Experiment #210 was born in a lab, his father being the Author of the journals. He didn't take it too kindly with the excessive amounts of experimentation but found some solitude in being able to shape shift when he was not around. He had started getting used to the routine when suddenly it all stopped. He no longer got visits from the author and started to feel abandoned. He manages to finally get out of his cage but soon realized there was no real way out of the bunker unless accessed from the outside or excessive digging for he had the misfortune of not being able find any creatures with that capability. After years of isolation and living off of beans, he encounters a strange duo enter his domain. He was a bit weary at first, seeing that the chestnut hair one had a similar cold demeanor as the author but too more kindly to the blonde one, seeing that he was just as nervous as himself. After a dramatic encounter and being chased around for the Journal he took from the chestnut haired one, he decided they where friendly enough stick around. Plus the chestnut haired one, Dipper he comes to find out, offered him a place and home to stay, as well as a opportunity to show off his shape shifting skills which he gladly agreed to. The only catch was that he had to wear a gem on his neck, even though Dipper's reasoning was sound (only make sure it was easier to spot him out when he shape shifted), he couldn't shake the feeling it had a more darker intention. Plus it hurt greatly when he put it on his neck. Shafer's personality, quirks, and relationships with other characters: Having been isolated for so long, he is extremely curious about the world around him and can get over stimulated with the new sites and sounds. He doesn't necessarily know how to interact with people and so he's playful actions are seen more of troublesome behavior than him trying to be friends. He can also be gullible and trusting, and not think twice about what someone says and takes it for the truth at first. But it doesn't mean he isn't smart, in fact, he is very aware of when something is taken too far though he might not act out on the feeling, hoping it's an overreaction more than anything else. His appearance is a mixture of Bill, Dipper, and the Baron Num Num's mascot, as well as a few twist of his own. He doesn't like needles or most medical equipment and avoids them whenever possible. He adores Bill. He just loves how he can get any kind of reaction from him at any point of time. Though Bill may think it's just him teasing him, it's in fact his way of showing he trust him fully and sees him like an brother. Shafer had a good feeling about Bill from the start and continues to respect the fact Bill has not a single bad bone in his body, even though he is very capable to switch sides. As for his relationship with Dipper however it's a friendly/neutral deal. Even though he appreciates that Dipper kindness for taking him in, he can't shake the feeling there is something off about him. Especially his twin sister.
