So sheikah can move really quietly right? I keep imagining scenarios where yarei scares revali (intentionally or unintentionally) by sneaking up on him lol

1000% she scares him. When they first met it was unintentional but after some time she purposely does it because she finds his reactions funny. She has the audacity to act all innocent when he accuses her of doing it on purpose LMAOOOO

And he never seems to get the jump on her no matter how much he tries which ruffles his feathers HAHA

Of course Revali is going to turn a simple task like picking sundelions for their expeditions into a heart-to-heart because what better place to be uninterrupted with your beloved than on desolate islands in the sky?

Tears of the Kingdom got my brain going brrrr for my au. And Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a cinematic masterpiece which I rewatched.

It's funny bc totk takes place approximately 4-6 years after botw and I also had a timeskip of 4 years in my au adhjkdhja

So when did they realize they were in love with the other? that "oh fuck" moment?

Revali is a hot mess and we all agree thank you😌

Revali's generally unaware of the fact his favoritism towards Yarei is rooted in the fact he's attracted to her, and chalks it up to her just being more tolerable than most. It leads to some odd behavior but the process of him falling happens under his nose.

As for the moment itself it really is a "oh fuck" for Revali LMAO. While the months go by Revali's usual bravado eases with the Champions, showing some of his true colors around them since they're kind of friends now. And he doesn't feel as tense with them as he used to. With Yarei it's no different, but he is much more relaxed than he would be than with the others because being around Yarei is easy. He just doesn't seem to put together as to why.

Why he feels so giddy whenever she's around. Why he gets so annoyed whenever some dolt is trying to win her attention. Why does everyone keep teasing that there's an unspoken attraction. Etc. Etc.

And with all of this resulted in the opposite of what he usually does; not showing off. No bravado. No mask. Just... him. Of course Yarei isn't deterred by it, if anything she seems to be just as enamored by him as he is. And the view of Yarei's smiling face after she fires back with another witty remark to his snark makes his next passing thought beat him upside the head;

"I'm so in love with her."

And then he goes through the five stages of grief because he can't deal with his feelings 🙄

Yarei is kinda different where she's somewhat aware of her affection for Revali from the get-go. As time goes on and her feelings grow she's in a constant state of "he's my friend and that's it" and tries to write those feelings off. She's kind of forcing herself to keep her affection platonic.

Yarei's acceptance comes at a moment when she and the Champions were visiting Rito Village because they were celebrating the founding of the village, and the elder had invited all of them to celebrate as guests. Once all the festivities calmed and the sun began to set, it left a few hours before the village turned in before dark. The Champions were out and about, while Revali continued to entertain Yarei with whatever came to mind, he then had the bright idea to take her out on a flight. It was Yarei's first time doing so where they weren't in a life or death situation so she was nervous lol.

But with the beautiful scenery, the vast sky, and the world forgotten below, Yarei couldn't find it in herself to shut away that endearment she had. Especially now that Revali had been sharing so many important parts of his life with her throughout day and with the way he looked so peaceful and at home while flying in her company. And she felt at home being with him.

She was in love with him and she couldn't deny it anymore.
