Well, I’ve written dozens of drabbles. Practice helps. You learn the little tricks and techniques to squeeze the most out of words. Contractions, hyphens, and commas are your friends. ‘of the’ is the enemy. Find a specific word instead of using adjectives to modify a plain word.
It’s all a game, really, how you start with 5 too many words, you cut, and now you’re at 299 but are incapable of finding just 1 more word so now you’re at 301...Is it important in the end? Not really. But I’ve learned a lot about writing from doing so.
My autocorrect has finally given up. On this one word at least.

That’s a lovely looking pot. Why is it a fail?
It started as a mug, and obviously went very wrong. Then I decided it would be a small vase, but while trimming a foot, I cut though, and then it was a succulent planter!
