Had to trim the stem off of my #MalayaCup #MenstrualCup after 2 days of living with it irritating me. Review: It's softer than my Anytime s2, and comfortable when properly inserted. The only reason I felt it was because of the stem sticking out (I have a low cervix, so the cup sits low). I comfortably used it during cycle day 1 & 2, but only used it overnight once. I leaked overnight on CD1, and my theory is that's caused by how soft the cup is and how I move a lot while sleeping. I bounded up and off the bed when I woke up yesterday since I felt it leaking and hate that feeling. Ended up using my firmer Anytime s2 last night and it held up well, no more leaks. I like how there's a line inside the cup indicating how much menstrual blood it contains, I can safely estimate that I lost around 40ml yesterday. It seems it takes longer for me to fill up the Malaya compared to Anytime, and thus I can wear it for longer. However, the softness of the cup means it takes a bit more effort and coaxing for it to pop open fully when inserted. I do have a strong pelvic floor even if I'm heavier than I usually am. #MenstrualCupsPH #MenstrualCupReview #ReviewsPH #Review https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpf3r_ohWBB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v2y8123xo8b

One of my goals this year is to have a memorable summer full of happy adventures, may it be through food trips, travels or extreme sports. I've been so busy this semester and this summer is the time to venture out and explore! I'm glad to have started my Summer with my college best friends and crossing out things from "our" bucketlist. After a stressful hellweek (hagupit ng finals), my college friends and I planned a list of things we wanted to do this summer and one of them is eating in Project Pie.
The interior was so cool. It's a great place to chill with friends.
Paolo and Cz, :)
Me and my Highschool friend, Jerrold :)
I've always wanted to try the concept of designing your own pizza and indeed it was fun! You get to choose whatever toppings you want for the same prize. Though I also wanted to try the bananuttella flavor, one round of pizza was more than enough to make me feel bloated.
After a week of stressful no-sleep paperworks, movie editing, exams, thesis revisions and PR campaigns, we think we deserved this break! I'm so happy to have started my summer with these people.
I've heard time and time again that Spectrum's buffet, although smaller than the usual hotel buffets, offers great food quality. Upon entering, I was impressed by how it wasn't too cramped compared to the other hotel buffets I've tried. The first thing I did after being led to our table was to look through the selection to decide early on what I wanted to try.
Salad Bar
Sushi Bar
Not only do they serve the usual California Maki and Tuna Sashimi rolls, but they also serve special rolls that hotel buffets don't usually take their time on making, since most buffets focus on the basic rolls.
Nachos
I'm not too sure if I overlooked the cheese offering or not, but it would've been great if they served cheese and ground beef with the nachos; someone correct if I'm wrong and just missed out on it, though I tried looking and nothing was in sight.
Dimsum
This time, I laid off of the dimsum, since that's what I've been eating prior to this buffet and decided to go beyond the usual.
Fresh Seafood
The only thing I tried from this selection is the tuna sashimi, which was fresh to perfection! You could taste the sweetness throughout the slice, which proves that it hadn't been frozen over time.
Carving Station
Of course, this is where I focused on mostly. Being the pig that I am, I had three slices of their roast beef, which was to die for! Though it may have a been kind of tough, it was still juicy and full of flavor. Don't get me wrong though; the toughness of it wasn't bad at all, I just think I would've appreciated it more if it was more tender. I had my slice(s) cooked medium rare, which I will always believe is the best way to eat steak. My Dad always has it well done, which in my opinion, is just like eating beef tapa.
Cheese & Cold Cuts
For the cold cuts, I tried the Coppa, Saucisson, and the Salami; I'm honestly not a big fan of Saucisson. I took a slice of Manchego and the Brie; two kinds I've never tried before since I stick to my favorites, which are Gruyere and Gouda. Both were okay, but I think I won't be trying those again anytime soon.
Hummus
Unfortunately, I did not to try their hummus selection, which I promise to taste when I get the chance to go back!
Their selection of international dishes was impressive. I'm not sure if this changes every now and then, but everything I tried was very rich in flavor.
Pork and Sausage in Chili Garlic Sauce / Asian Beef Stew
Spiced Chicken A La Pobre
Lamb Meatballs Makhni
I am not that fond of lamb; the only time I liked the taste of it was during this barbecue in Maxime's house; but this was spectacular! There is an explosion of flavors when you take a bite out of it - definitely a dish I'd go back to this buffet for.
Tuna with Roasted Garlic and Sundried Tomato
This is one was one of my favorites too!
Grilled Rosemary Chicken with Foie Gras Gravy
Pork in Hickory Sauce
Beef Roulade in Red Wine Sauce Cutlets
Seafood Ala Cream
Live Bee Station!
Yes, folks, see bees in action! Haha. I didn't get to try the honey, but my Dad spoke very highly of it; and as a honey connoisseur, if there is such a thing, that's a lot coming from him.
Dessert Station
Their ice cream is delicious beyond belief; you must not miss out on it! Impressively, this was sourced locally!
By dessert, I was stuffed and aside from the ice cream, I only got to try their bread pudding and strawberry trifle - two of my favorite desserts. Both were delicious, which I can deem as my dessert favorites; I don't think it'll give justice to the rest of the dessert selection though considering I didn't even dare to try the others.
The service is world-class as well; our main server, Emel, together with Dante and the others whose names I forgot (I'm bad with names), were absolutely polite and pleasant, and attended to all our needs and made sure that our stay was perfect throughout.
All in all, Spectrum is definitely a restaurant for the books! Now that I've tried it, I find myself planning another visit.

Lusso has always been my favorite restaurant since college, although Cru Steakhouse has recently topped the charts, but more on that another time. Having dined in Lusso countless times, bringing Maxime to what I deemed as my favorite restaurant for several years now was a must while he was here. We were still full from our lunch in Kai, so unfortunately, we only got to order two dishes. Factor in me feeling under the weather and wanting to go home as soon as possible; we didn’t get to appreciate their desserts either, which are to die for, let me tell you!
I've always loved how simple the interiors are with a huge crystal chandelier accenting the small establishment.
Complimentary bread sticks, which did not fail to impress.
Both dishes we tried were absolutely delicious, although the Spinach Taglierini has always been my favorite.
Lusso has always kept a rather short menu, compared to its neighboring restaurants, but so far, everything I've tried was très délicieux! So when you find yourself thinking about which restaurant to try when you're walking along the row of restaurants in Greenbelt 5, do try Lusso!
Not often will you find me in MarQuee (or let alone, Pampanga), so when I was there last Friday, we decided to eat in one of the mall's new restaurants. Xtremely Xpresso is a homegrown concept that started in Subic and later expanded in MarQuee Pampanga.
They had a relatively interesting menu serving a wide range of dishes from antipasti to mouth-watering desserts.
Chili Wings (220PHP+) - There was just a hint of chili since we asked that it be served mild, although if I had it my way, we all know I would've wanted it extra, extra, super spicy! (I love spicy food, just to let you know). Nonetheless, the wings were satisfying.
Platter of Ribs (360PHP+) - This dish was surprisingly good. Although I found it slathered in too much sauce, it was delicious and pairing it with corn was a good combination.
Big Ben Pizza (M-579PHP+) - As mentioned in my previous posts, I've been trying to avoid carbs so I avoided this one. I was told, however, that their pizza was nothing special. So I guess I didn't really miss out!
Spicy Thai Shrimp Salad (160PHP+) - Lately, I've had an appetite for salads and even if this was simply made, it was really good, specially with the sauce.
Giant Brownie (250+PHP) - This was giant indeed. And once again, I skipped this tempting dessert, but was also told that the brownie was actually good too! At first we didn't think we could finish it (or should I say, they), but the meal ended with all our plates wiped out!
All the dishes we tried were good, so if you're looking for a good casual restaurant/cafe particularly in MarQuee (or Subic) and want something you can't find back in Manila, then I suggest you visit Xtremely Xpresso.
