Do the World a Favor
and don't tell people you love them if you don't. The issue is that we don't know what love is. We say we love people when we actually mean, "I feel a lot for you in this particular moment." That is not love. That is infatuation; it is worldly and temporal. Love is willing to die for a friend. Love is fearless. Are you too afraid to show people your love for them? Are you holding back out of fear of judgment or humiliation? Then it isn't love. That is selfishness. Jesus didn't tell us to only baptize them. He told us to make disciples. To disciple requires relationships and investment into an individual as a person. I'm pretty sick of people coming up to me, telling me that they love me, giving me a beautiful word of prophecy, and then the next time they see me they don't acknowledge me in any way. Often times they don't even remember who I am. How many more people are being "ministered to" this way? How many unbelievers are seeing this from believers? These are the ones I am primarily concerned for. The enemy is sowing a seed of fear. We are listening to his lies. Those of us who have heard from God about the movement that is taking place, the nameless, faceless revival that's about to sweep across every nation, know the power of God and are experiencing it. In the initial stages of the impartation of this knowledge, we were radically pursuing everyone we came into contact with and loving them supernaturally. After experiencing massive amounts of rejection, Satan started talking. His false prophet began speaking doubt into us and telling us to fear people. We began adopting this evil perception that says, "screw the religious!". We've followed his example by creating division between the supposed "religious" & "charismatic/lovers". Well, if we're truly lovers, shouldn't we love even the religious who are persecuting us? Should we seek to separate the body or unify it? That's what Jesus came to do. In the garden of Gethsemane, the night before His crucifixion, He prayed, " “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us,so that the world may believe that You sent Me." In our culture today, we have been taught that isolation is the correct way to deal with rejection. God has revealed to me that the reason cliques are forming in our church is not because of judgmental spirits or pride, but because of fear. This fear has taken root in our hearts and we are beginning to isolate ourselves, staying in our comfortably safe niche where we know we won't receive rejection from the outside world. I'm telling you, this is the enemies tactic in crippling the body of Christ. If the arm only socializes with the shoulder, a part of the body is working, but the shoulder and arm are pretty useless without the hand manifesting the behaviors which are occurring in the arm and the shoulder. We are not to partake in earthly culture, but in Kingdom culture. Culture is not an excuse for our behavior. We are being sifted like wheat. Recognize the truth and flee from the lies now that they have been exposed.
I'm fed up with false openness, with everyone acting like they have it altogether when everyone of us are struggling. We need real Christians, not a bunch of goody-two-shoes enforcing religious rules. Perhaps you're not religious. Perhaps you're a "lover". Even so, the world doesn't need your facade. Clearly no one is impressed, or the nets would be breaking with the fish you'd be catching. If you don't care about people, don't pretend that you do and ask God to show you His love for you so that you can finally truly love people. The reason why no one loves is because they don't know Love.
The love of God is foundational to everything that we are waiting to see. In John 15, Jesus says,"Abide in My love." Then in 1 John 4:18 we read: "perfect love casts out all fear." I am not trying to condemn or sound harsh. I am filled with righteous anger. Do not mistake anger for hatred. To hate is to ignore. To hate is to lack emotion of any kind for a person. When God is angry, He is very angry. And it is righteous because it is rooted in love. He is jealous for us because He is in love with us. I am angry because I love you and I am not okay with the fact that we are adhering to the words spoken by the father of lies. I am not okay with unbelievers coming into our churches and seeing the same thing they've always seen: people who don't love because they don't know Love. People who are too selfish to care anything about them, who don't even care to know them.
It is His love that changes our hearts! It is what we need a full comprehension of before we will see anything of the Kingdom established here. If you do not love, if you are filled with fear, it is because you have not experienced Perfect Love.
"Dear Friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world that we may have eternal life through Him. This is real love--not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
"Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But of we love each other, God lives in us, and His love is brought to full expression in us.
"And God has given us His Spirit as proof that we live in Him and He in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and testify that the Father sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them and they live in God. We know how much God loves us and we have put our trust in His love.
"God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
"Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love. We love each other because He first loved us. If someone says, 'I love God,' but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And He has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters."
--1 John 4:7-21
I encourage all of you to read through 1 John and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, teach you, and transform you through it. I am speaking as Isaiah spoke to Israel. He spent the first few chapters condemning them for their sin as a result of the prophecies he has received from God. But God interrupted him and took Him into His throne room. Isaiah's response was, "Woe am I, for I am a man of unclean lips." God revealed to Isaiah that he was guilty of the same sins as Israel. I am not excluded from this message. I am simply exposing the darkness and speaking truth because God has given me the great privilege of being His mouthpiece.. I pray that we have ears to hear and that we would listen and heed the words of the LORD.
