steph a question for you! I went on ao3 to look for bucky/sam fic and got overwhelmed by uhhhh how many were set in the bg of like, tony or steve fic SO do you have any recs for me!

DO I EVER!!!! first of all, love the symmetry of you asking me for marvel recs when you provided ME with my first marvel recs years ago, love this journey for us!! here are some good fics to start with!

i am mostly finding fics by starting with winterfalcon authors i historically liked who are all re-emerging from the earth like triumphant cicadas, their time is now!!!!!! and then if i'm trying to search for new things to read on ao3, instead of searching the bucky/sam tag i've been starting in the tag for the show, and that helps filter out some of the noise.

I def agree with this. I think for some artists the performative bit IS completely genuine, with others it just feels like a mask that keeps them separate from the audience.

yeah, it’s such a fine line to walk, and it doesn’t seem like a hard line, either; for some ppl it really works, so fair enough! it just doesn’t do anything for me, u know?
