Firstly, the admins would like to apologize -- we didn’t mean to neglect this roleplay the way we did. We both were struggling with muse and real-life responsibilities. That being said, we’re glad to see that there are a few people who continued to stay active!Still, we’re wondering exactly who is still interested in this roleplay and who isn’t. We ask that if you’re still willing to participate and be active here, that you like this post. We would also greatly appreciate having feedback from everyone, perhaps an event you’d like to see? Or some way that you think could help bring this roleplay back? We’d love to hear input and opinions from people!
As everyone at Hogwarts -- either currently attending or having attended in the past -- knows, the only way to be apart of the school is to receive a formal acceptance letter in the post. For most students, this is a joyous time as they anticipate in the coming weeks to have the chance to attend a magical school.

But for many upcoming muggleborn students, the dream has become a nightmare. This year, seven 11-year-old whom received their letters for the upcoming 2022 school year were killed in the middle of the night, along side their family.
“We believe that these recent crimes against muggleborns are likely linked to previous cases as evidence in the M.O.,” Explained the Head of the Law Enforcement Department. Mode of operation, often short-handed to M.O., is used to describe a criminal's characteristic patterns and style of work. It is also applied in fraud investigation when talking of behavior patterns that indicate specific types of fraud. “We believe these crimes were committed by the same perpetrator, and we also believe that it was likely committed by more than one person. We are sparing all resources to aid the muggle police in this investigation.”
This isn’t the first case of muggleborn children being killed after receiving their Hogwarts letter. In previous cases, only one or two muggleborn were targeted. “I’m going to do everything I can to ensure the safety of our muggleborn students,” Assured Eleanor Windsor, the current Headmistress of Hogwarts. “These kids are my number one priority. As long as they’re under my care, I’m going to protect them.”
But people are beginning to question, is protection enough? Clearly, whoever is behind the murders, has access to the Book of Admittance. The Book of Admittance, along with the Quill of Admittance, has all the name of every magical child. A powerful magical artefact in its own right, the book served as a regulatory system, refusing to allow the quill to write in it until sufficient evidence of magical ability was displayed, thus guarding against Squibs being incorrectly admitted.
While muggleborns have been under severe scrutiny in the past, this is the first time so many muggleborns have been targeted. This will be the first year in history where no first year muggleborn was sorted at the Hogwarts Feast. So far, there is no one claiming responsibility for the tragedy and the aurors seem to have few leads as to who could be responsible.
We’d like to inform current and upcoming members that there’s going to be a slight change in our rules. It won’t heavily affect people, but we’re going to have a new policy when it comes to going on hiatus. Those who are going on hiatus are allowed to take however long they need—we understand that life gets in the way and should always be a priority! However, we’re going to ask those who are on hiatus to message the main once a week. Just a simple message saying something along the lines of ‘I’m still here!’ will work fine. This will let us know that, while you’re not necessarily online or able to be active on the dash, that you’re still around and haven’t given up on this roleplay.
