The influence of Bolas
So I know I just said ‘meh’ about these spoilers, but this one interests me because of the flavour text.
Depicted is an Izzet wizard having his “venture” fail. We already know Ral Zarek is under Bolas’ influence, and we haven’t seen Niv yet? Has all of the Izzet guild fallen under Bolas’ clutches? In addition, it says SOME guilds, implying more than one, we know the Golgari has Vraska who is secretly working with Jace but is also working with Bolas. The fact the Dimir knows this suggests they haven’t fallen inline with bolas. Which is good considering they are one of the other colour identities in bolas’ colours.
This leads me to believe that maybe Rakdos has also somehow fallen under the influence of bolas. It’s the other colour identity for him after all. Either way, we seen that the plane is ramping up to the arrival of our big bad and I’m excited for that.
