That's perfectly ok. Most people don't even like themselves. I would much rather be somebody's shot of whiskey than everybody's cup of tea. This is a lesson it took me over 40 years to understand and take to heart. I don't need the approval of everyone, because not everyone wants the best for me. Someone in your life will always have negative things to say about what you do and the decisions you make. So why do you care what others think when THEY seldom do? After all, as Dita Von Teese has famously said, you can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who hates peaches. This is not saying that you shouldn't take other people's advice and wisdom into consideration when those people matter to you and genuinely care about you. We all have those people in our lives who have our best interests at heart. Who may not support the unwise decisions out of love and concern, but who are always encouraging us and loving us. Theirs are the opinions that matter above everyone else's.
