Marina Abramović, Rhythm 0, 1974
On Monday the 30th of January we took a trip to the Tate Modern gallery in London. Here, I discovered my new favourite artist - Marina Ambramovic. I had heard about Ambramovic before, but had never really looked in depth at her work. The piece that was displayed at the gallery is called 'Rhythm 0.' 'Rhythm 0' was a performance piece done in 1974 whereby Abramovic stood still for 6 hours and allowed the public to do whatever they wanted to her. In an interview, the artist said she did this because she wanted to see how far the public would go. At first, people were kind to her - they hugged and kissed her and gave her roses. However, as time went on, the public became more and more wild. They cut her with scissors, stuck rose thorns in her body, cut her clothes off. One man even held a loaded gun to her neck. The reason why I liked this piece so much is because I think it's interesting to see what people are capable of when they don't have to face consequences or take responsibility. When the performance finished, Ambramovic returned to herself again and began to move and talk, but when she returned to being human, the people in the gallery ran away.

Hi! I just found this from your tumblr (you have a very beautiful tumblr and face by the way) but I was wondering, and I really mean this I need to know - I'm vegetarian but want to become vegan, how hard is it? Please don't sugar coat it, I'm scared to do it and be really bad and give up.
Hey! :) I barely ever get questions on here, yay. Thank you!
Personally, I didn't find it that hard. I was vegetarian for a while before too, and I think when you've gone that far already, it feels like less of a "sacrifice". My best advice would be to do it in stages, give up one thing at a time (like milk, then eggs, then cheese etc), and always find substitutes for things you're giving up that you really like to eat BEFORE you actually give them up. Also, educate yourself about all the positives of being vegan - my favourite website for this is chooseveg.com - so you'll remember why you're doing it. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!! xx
