Ok so I'm making a cape and I want it to be splayed out and keep its shape so the design is visible. I need something like boning, but longer. What should I use?
Wire is effective when sewn into the seams and you can bend it to get a ruffling in the wind effect. Just choose a gauge that can support the weight of the fabric you used! Depending on the effect you want, you could also line it with a stiff interfacing.
