Shirou sprawled out on the dojo floor as he waited for Kiritisugu to arrive. He missed the feeling of tatami mats, it just did not feel comfortable to him in a home with any othe kind of flooring. He had been so abosrbed in this he did not hear the footsteps of his father approach until he was already on top of him.

At that point Shirou did not want to look like he had been caught napping. He suddenly sat up, and then down, and then up. “100, 101, 102, 103... Oh, I guess I can cut my sit ups short now that you’re here dad.”

There was no way Kiritsugu would fall for such an obvious lie, but Shirou still smiled like a mischievious brat around him just like he did when he was younger. He jumped to his feet immediately, and went looking for the kendo practice swords.

“Oh, by the way for this spar do you mind if I duel wield? I’m not trying to cheat or anything, I don’t need to if I’m facing you old man. Two swords just feels more comfortable for me.”

The weather was warming as spring drew near, which meant people were slowly finding their ways to the parks that laid along the wards. It also meant that people were anticipating the blooming of fresh cherry blossoms in the Cotes Ward.

That’s where Sakura found herself.

The young girl walked through the Eternal Cherry Blossoms, admiring them. Though it was true that they would never fall out of seasons, it seemed like newer ones were waiting to bloom, like it was a sure sign of the coming of spring. Lavender hues watched the petals fall graceful down, landing in the drifting waters of the spring near by.

“It’s really nice here... Senpai would like it. It would be nice to show him this.”

A sad smile made its way onto her face as she continued down along the stream. Shoes kicking at the fallen petals on the ground and eventually, she stopped when she came across a certain older man.

“Oh...! Are you admiring the cherry blossoms too?”

It wasn’t surprising to see another person here, yet his appearance made her stop short. There was something almost recognizable about him to her, but she couldn’t put a finger on it.
