This vegan recipe for crispy stir-fried Asian tofu is a delicious and satisfying dish packed with flavor and texture. The tofu is coated in cornstarch for a crispy exterior, then stir-fried with a savory and sweet sauce along with colorful vegetables. It's perfect served over rice or noodles for a wholesome meal.
Ingredients: 1 block extra firm tofu, pressed and cubed. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 1 tablespoon maple syrup. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 inch ginger, grated. 2 green onions, chopped. 1 bell pepper, sliced. 1 cup broccoli florets. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying.
Instructions: To make the coating even, put the cubed tofu in a bowl and add the cornstarch. In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu cubes until they are golden brown and crispy. Take it out and set it aside. Use the same pan to put the garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in. For one minute, stir-fry. Stir-fry the broccoli and bell pepper in the pan until they are just starting to get soft. Go back to the pan and add the crispy tofu. Soy sauce, rice vinegar, and maple syrup should all be mixed together in a small bowl. Add the sauce to the vegetables and tofu. For another two to three minutes, stir-fry until everything is coated well and hot all the way through. Add some chopped green onions as a garnish. Enjoy while hot!
