Why are sigils a trigger warning

I tag sigils with trigger warnings because there are some who believe that sigils can act on them just by being looked at. And not everyone wants other people’s magic acting on them at any time. Especially if the effects of the sigil(s) are opposite of what the viewer wants for themselves. 

Not to mention, some people get anxiety over a magical symbol acting on them when they may not know what the symbol means or what it will do.
