Seasons change, and it gets colder even in Strangetown. Day 28 for the Contrarys.

Seasons change, and it gets colder even in Strangetown. Day 28 for the Contrarys.
The Contary family is next, and they have a new family member. Kitty Alice the cat had to be rehomed by her previous owners, the Joques, and Rick adopted her. Thankfully, Kitty Alice seems to actually get along with Snowflake, unlike the cats in her old home.
Young Atom unexpectedly receives a magic lamp. He's more interested in his toys and children's book at this point in his life, though. And Merrill leaves for college. It's unfortunate that she has to leave home so soon after her dad's passing, but maybe new place will be good for her.
Suddenly, the house feels much emptier.
Sadly, Saturday night Edward passes away. He goes peacefully, but it's still a huge hit for Opal and Merrill - they both loved him very much.
The family starts the day early.
A little recap, since it's literally been years: here we have Edward and Opal, still happily married. Rick and Opal have repaired their damaged relationship over the years. Although Rick never became too close with his father, they at least get along - kinda like the cats.
Rick is married to Stella Terrano, and they have a son named Atom. Atom was born in the desert, but he actually loves the cold and is not afraid to say so.
Merrill is Edward's alien daughter. Her birth was the reason the family moved to Strangetown.
Kitty Alice won’t stop fighting the other cats, so by the end of the rotation the family makes a hard decision - they have to find a new home for her. Violet asks around, and her old friend (a.k.a amicable ex) Rick agrees to take Kitty Alice in. He already has a cat but she’s very friendly, so hopefully the cats’ relationships will be better in Kitty Alice’s new family.
Rick gets a box of cat stuff from Violet, and after the last swat of her paw, Kitty Alice is on her way to Strangetown.
Marion: Mal, hurry up, we’re gonna miss the train!
Malcolm V: Why do we have to go by train if you have a car now, anyway? And why does your stinky dog get to ride in the front?
Marion: I can’t drive between towns yet. Get in the back, we’re running super late.
Marion was meant to take Malcolm to a Halloween-themed park in Belladonna Cove but they ended up missing their train after all. Now they have to make do with the Bluewater fair instead and it quickly becomes apparent that it’s… less than ideal.
And that’s day 25 for the Contrarys.
