Are we finally going to get a season five do-over? As much as I love "Rickmurai Jack," the marketing around the last few episodes made it seem like season five was building up to a devastating split. Instead, Rick suddenly realized that their relationship is abusive (which made no sense for his character at the time) and ran off with the crows, leading Morty to fall back into his passive sidekick role to win him back. All that buildup for a soft reset.
I don't want to get too excited, but at this point, the writers have two options: let Morty release his pent-up rage and force Rick to start changing for good, or back down again to restore the "classic" Rick and Morty dynamic. We know they can't split up permanently because the show's not over yet, so it has to be one of those two. After nine seasons, I'm hoping that the writers have finally decided to step up.
Another difference between Ted and Rick is their reaction to exploration while on their revenge quest. Ted shows no signs of even noticing the view that his friends are awestruck by, while the first scene we see after young Rick invents portal travel is him smiling as he lays on the pizza planet. Granted, Ted's journey is essentially a speedrun of Rick's crybaby backstory, so his grief was probably still a lot fresher than Rick's, but it's still interesting. Ted even refers to himself as impatient when he talks about patching his flat tyre instead of calling for a tow. Then again, young Rick seems to have felt limited by daily life and dreamt of something greater, while Ted began his arc by taking joy in the simple things (such as a deer on the side of the road), so perhaps this shows Rick's desire for adventure and new things and Ted's inability to find happiness in these. It makes me wonder just how much Rick really changed about himself in order to become Ted.

I don't believe I've ever seen anyone talk about this aspect of the episode Rickmurai Jack where Evil Morty destroys the Citadel.
"Do you know what the Central Finite Curve is? They built a wall around infinity. They separated all the infinite universes from all the infinite universes where he's the smartest man in the universe."
There's so much conspiracy and potential that could go behind this one little detail. Like, it's absurd when you think about it. The only Ricks that we've seen so far are the smartest Ricks in the universe. Like, what about the Ricks' who aren't the smartest? Where are they and what are they like? Why did Rick create the Central Finite Curve?
Then there's the massive freakin door of opportunities that this episode opened. All those universes where Rick isn't the smartest? Think about an episode about that. Maybe there are Mortys who are the smartest person in their universes. Maybe there are universes where Rick never left his family even after Diane was erased. What about a Rick and Summer universe? Like, the possibilities are endless and it's absolutely insane. Evil Morty destroyed the curve, but they haven't really explored what's outside of it.
Then there's the conspiracy around why the curve was built in the first place. Rick Prime was the first Rick to invent portal travel, so did he build the Central Finite Curve? Or did Rick C-137 build it? Why?
In "Wet Kuat Amortican Summer", when Rick compares Morty to a dog and Summer to a cat, all I can think of is Evil Morty telling Morty that Mortys are bred for forgiveness.
Man evolved dogs for loyalty and for companionship, to be our "little buddies"; like Ricks did to Mortys.
