Emotionally summing up season 9 would be that I never stopped wanting to hug Morty and hiss at anyone who tries to hurt him, and occasionally wanting to curb stomp Rick or aggressively boop him on the nose. That's it. That's how I felt.

I don't know if it's just me, but this season felt like it was really rough on Morty. It almost feels intentional, even. So many episodes have given us peaks at his emotional struggles. The little dude just wants to be loved and accepted. Rick felt a lot more cruel. I personally rate this as the most intense season they've created so far. It hurt in so many different ways. Morty is clinging on to the last little bit of hope and goodness he has left in him. I don't think it'll be too much longer before he either snaps or something life changing happens. He can't hold onto a single friend or supportive figure. It's almost like he's a walking case of bad luck. Look what happened in Field of Dreams, and he still managed to smile at the smallest bit of kindness that Rick gave to him at the end. My poor little bro.
