Standing there, in the boardroom, the air is tense as the 5 agents have hands resting on their weapons. Rick glances between them and a very irritated Cole, who is surrounded by floating office items.
One of the agents, Miller, speaks,
“Cole, calm down! You completely misinterpreted what Agent Skyles said”. Rick cringes internally at the pathetic backpedaling— Skyles quite literally called Cole the “least capable yet most destructive so-called hero”, making him furious on the magic-users’ behalf and royally pissing off Cole.
Rick’s eyes shift to Cole, who’s scoffing at Miller’s excuse,
“Oh did I now? Then pray tell what you actually meant?” His voice is menacingly sweet as the window glass starts to fracture behind him.
“I- look, you have the potential to be better, to be like the others—“ Again, Rick wants to punch Miller in his stupid fucking face, but is frozen in his spot, feeling pathetic that he has to roll over and show his belly every time things start to get dicey around others. Cole’s jaw tenses, and Banner sees a flash of something all too familiar briefly appear in his eyes— he manages to move in front of two of the men before the windows explode, broken glass flying towards the agents.
