I will never understand hotd writers' determination to paint laena as some barely-desired second choice to rhaenyra. why make daemon only court laena at rhaenyra's wedding and erase laena and rhaenyra's friendship? to build them up as rivals in the audience's mind? why make it seem like she was babytrapped in an unhappy marriage in pentos with no ability to even visit home? why write in the clear favoritism daemon showed baela (because dragon) over rhaena (because no dragon) and the subsequent rift that caused with laena? why not show his reaction to laena's childbirth, her death, her funeral??
the moment laena's birth became difficult, daemon flew caraxes to dragonstone and demanded his most trusted medical expert, maester gerardys, come to help. he held her for days as fever took her. he sat vigil over her body after she died...and yet you want to convince me he didn't love laena at least as much as he loved rhaenyra???

BACKSTORY
Anne Marie, before her death was a Nun in Paris France in the late 1560s. Her home was in turmoil during the Wars of Religion she was protestant and was outcasted as a Huguenot. During an attack on a protestant church she was captured and was tortured and killed. The priest of the church survived, and he was particularly fond of Anne and embalmed her body and gave her a proper burial.
Far later in 21st century a man who doesn’t deserve to be even named, who had a morbid fascination with death and had taken many a life dug up her body and found it to be in amazing condition. The bad parts of her body were replaced with pieces that belonged to his other victims of grave-robbing, and Anne was successfully reanimated.
Who we will call, H. because it’s difficult to have a story without giving the antagonist a name as much as we don’t want to speak of the devil used her as someone he could torture and get out his violent tendencies on over and over. Each time he killed her he’d bring her back even stronger and with him new ideas on how to kill and torture his “doll”. The problem was Anne wasn’t a doll she felt every single blow and stab. Eventually she escaped, somehow, but H still searches for his “doll”, because even though he brought back someone once he was unable to do it again.
Anne has had extreme difficulty adjusting to the 21st century and still fears to be captured again. She joined the show because she thinks there might be a possibility that Ricky could...protect her and she’s sure any pain he inflicts on her will never be as worse as what she experienced with H.
The key on her back does not have to be turned often, but keeps her alive and if it goes unturned she will basically become a limp doll.
PERSONALITY
Anne was someone who lived virtuously throughout her life she was devote to god and dedicated herself to her faith. To this day she’s still a strong believer, but there’s one problem. She believes she’s tainted. And is certain she is going to hell. She thinks because she was resurrected in a way that wasn’t holy that she’s doomed to damnation that she’s a disgusting vile creature whose existence in itself is a sin.
Certain that she is going to hell she has decided she will live out the rest of her days on earth as long as she can, because if she doesn’t die how will she go to hell? She wants to blame god for the situation she was put in, but at the same time she doesn’t understand how this could happen to anyone. Was it her own fault? She is completely unfamiliar with sex being that she was a nun and still in a way feels like she is one to this day. But she is interested in it. She hasn’t so much as touched another mans hand romantically so if she does become Rickys well...partner, then it will surely be a new experience for her.
Although she is a mess of emotions and deals with a lot of emotional fallout from her death and her resurrection she is a warm person. Being around her is a similar feeling to being in your home. A familiar feeling that isn’t too bouncing with life, but just a sort of comfortable sense of relaxation. She doesn’t understand how to flirt, and doesn’t have a clue how to speak like a “modern person” many common phrases and lingos will confuse her or completely go over her head and she will take things very literally. She’s especially horrible at recognizing sarcasm.
She is a difficult person to love, she believes she undeserving of affection, kindness, or any sort of positivity, but at the same time she is very needy and desperate. She is easily paranoid, but gets injured constantly and seems to barely react. Mentioning H. will cause her to quickly panic and she’ll completely shut down and won’t speak for hours or even days. Fickle yet strong willed, weak yet can surpass death, alive yet dead, Anne is a living paradox.
