I thought the last S3 PV had me fucked up with the glimpse at the potentially tragic backstory of Lu Guang, and the fact that Cheng Xiaoshi had forgotten him. But this? THIS?!

What do you mean Cheng Xiaoshi is in a photo on the brink of getting trapped in the past? And he's, bleeding out there?? LISTEN TO LU GUANG FOR ONCE AND GET OUT OF THAT PHOTO RIGHT NOW!!

This scene better end with Cheng Xiaoshi jumping out just in time and Lu Guang getting him the help he needs to be ok (maybe a little cradling Cheng Xiaoshi gently in his arms moment in the process -- platonic or otherwise -- you know, I think they/we DESERVE something like that at this point, right??)

And what the fuck is happening to Qiao Ling here??

And this isn't even getting into whatever is going on with Vein/Xia Fe/Liu Xiao/Li Tianchen (I mean, I'm sure it's all related but I can't start thinking about what they got going on yet)

This is a lot to process. Li Haoling, when I find you... At least it's not that long of a wait until... OCTOBER?!? 😩😭

Edit 1: Ok.. I see that CXS is in his S1 outfit, LG in what he was at the end of S2, so these scenes *may* not be connected, but when he dies in Bridon he's also wearing that jacket so I am not at all reassured by the trace of hope that tried to work its way into my brain.

Edit 2: Though CXS dying in a photo in the past and LG not being able to reach him certainly would be tragic and not bittersweet, so that cant happen. Right?? Hope reemerges

I cannot stress how much of a good character Dr. Lang was in NCIS: Tony & Ziva. What a gift of a therapist!

Sorting Ram, Mutt and Ace like a collection of shiny rocks

So all of them are about feeling fundamentally broken and unfixable (or irredeemable). About being reminded time and time again that you'll never be enough no matter how hard you try. But not being able to give up because all of life around you screams about hope, and that you just have to try a little harder or wait a little longer, and FOR SURE you'll be healed/understood/accepted as you are! Which may never happen! Who knows! :) Ram is probably the most unjustifiable about it, cos his deal is all pretty much healable traumas. Which doesn't mean that he won't do drastic shit about it. But he did get a happy ending out of it by accident.... Mutt gave up on herself so hard that a magic entity manifested to slap her at the back of her head (consistently) and scream "GIRL, MOVE WE'RE GETTING OUT OF IT!!!!". aoaoaoaoaaoooo y'all have no idea how much I loooooove munching on Mutt's torments. She's SO about "everybody can change" concept. She's so angry and stubborn and not a good person, and was evil most of her life💕 What can even be done with that💕 And Ace deals with it in many horrible horrible ways and reaches the depths of despair imperceivable for the two above, cos ha. ha ha. He is, in fact, fundamentally broken :D And no matter how good he's learning or how genuine his actions are- he will always get hit with "you're cold and off-putting and unnatural" by people he likes! :D

teaser tidbit tuesday

Tagged by @circledwithaheart (thanks!!) to post another teaser. I'm running out of very safe things to share and may have to start skipping around soon! For now, here's Jamie and Mateo in Nothing to Know...

I yawn then, an obnoxiously exaggerated thing I can’t cover well enough. Jamie is quick to laugh at me and then kiss the sleepy smile that must’ve been left behind. It’s too good, again and still, all happy and tired and honest and smitten, so we don’t rush our way through it, even when every clock must be ticking. I need to go home and sleep, and Jamie has to fetch his car from wherever he left it. The beach has been closed since shortly after we arrived, and while I’m increasingly confident nobody will find us here, I’m not sure we have an actual reason to stay. But I really, really don’t want to leave. Jamie moves closer again, his arms—and the blanket—wrapped more tightly around me than before, and I know he’s clinging, too. It’s silly, I think, when we can plan to have tacos next week and the week after that and the week after that. We can spend afternoons on the beach or try dinner again at the same bar, and whatever desperation we feel tonight can be something we laugh at then. We don’t pull away from each other though, our kisses close to promises we haven’t made, until my attempt at a deep breath turns into another ridiculous yawn. Jamie doesn’t laugh this time, but he slowly slides off my lap and back onto the bench, extending his arm to make room for me against his side. “Don’t go,” he whispers. “Not yet.” I’m too big to do this, and I don’t care, resting my head on his shoulder while he rearranges the blanket over us. It’ll be fine for the few more minutes I’m here, my eyes closed while I rest with one last kiss pressed to the top of my head. One last kiss.
