Prism, previously all tucked in and cozy in their bed, blinks her sleepiness away to Phoenix slightly tapping her on her shoulder. She hums slightly before yawning like a wordless question. She squints as she adjusts her vision in the morning light…
Only to be faced with a soot-covered Phoenix smiling down on her.
"Wh-What the--?!" Prism sits up suddenly as she reaches out for Phoenix. Her hand accidentally bumps into the breakfast tray they were holding. The sight of pancakes and a slightly disturbed coffee mug answers…some of her questions, but the answer came with even more questions.
"What happened to you? Why do you look like you just burned down the kitchen?!" She exclaims. She just notices a trail of smoke on the tip of Phoenix's hair. "And why are you smoldering while the breakfast looks pristine?"
Phoenix lets out a mischievous chuckle before winking at her. Prism sighs, slightly exasperated, but a smile manages to escape her lips. "You can't just laugh like that when I'm asking you an important question…"
She adjusts her position on the bed so that Phoenix could set the table tray on her lap. Now that their hands are finally free, they sign with a big ol' smile on their face.
'Just wanted to make something for you! A chef never reveals their secrets.' They giggle slightly again. 'Bon appetit~'
After the little flourish Phoenix made with their hands, Prism laughs as she shakes her head. They're still so unbelievable...
Now that she's able to take a whiff of her breakfast, she melts in this wonderful warmth. The room, the breakfast, Phoenix…who's just as radiant as ever. Even if they look like a solid shadow right now.
She takes the tissue on the tray and gestures to Phoenix to lean down to her. Once their head is in her grasp, she holds their chin, then she wipes their soot away while she pats down the smoke on their head. Once she could see their face properly, she kisses them softly on the lips.
"Thanks for making my morning, Phoenix." She whispers sweetly. Phoenix hums in great satisfaction. They were just about to move, but Prism doesn't let go of Phoenix's chin. "Hmm, one last thing, dear."
Phoenix looks at her expectantly, blinking at her with those sweet round eyes.
"…if something broke in the kitchen, you have to tell me. This is our damn house."

I'd like to think that he's actually a pretty neat person when it comes to clothing...The first time he got the job at Zoraxis, he underestimated how enthusiastic he could be with handling fire-emitting equipment. He was fine, but his clothes were badly damaged. Since then he's worn proper PPE plus his welding mask, but he's been (patiently and carefully) asking Fabricator if she could fireproof his fancier clothes...science project for fabby? yes??? He quickly understood that Zoraxis values ✨pizzazz✨ in their villainy. He wants to look good while burning things down, damnit!

I think if he survived, he'll find himself a GREAT loss of his usual clothes after the Peacemaker fall. He'll only have time to pack loose, homey clothes from one of his places before he goes into hiding and such. If he crashes with anyone who's willing to take him in, there might be a time where he ends up borrowing clothes from them. He feels it's rather.. below him ("band t-shirts? pft. really?") but he learns to appreciate it. Well, that and it's easier to blend in the faceless crowd without all his fancy outfits.
It's usually pretty evident if prism's eating something made by herself, or by her robots: it's either microwaved seafood noodle soup or homemade and well-rounded meals...when you're nose-deep into a project, sometimes you don't have time to cook up something. I think she Does enjoy cooking a lot, and she likes it when she has the time. She didn't intend to teach the robots how to cook at first, they just. Made her a meal all of a sudden. And prism was incredibly touched by this.
after ieytd 3 she eats a Lot of cup noodles and microwaveable foods for... a very long while. Takes her a bit to not feel miserable when she smells the familiar scent of home without her robots beside her.

I SHIP ITTTTTTT
1. What made you ship it?
Honestly it took me a bit to warm up to it, but my partner Frankie had been drawing small doodles of them from way before. I thought they were cutes but it didn't grip my brain until I drew this. To which I thought ohh yeah they are very cute :3c Then it continued to spiral from there.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
There's. A lot. Enemies to lovers, for one. The classic…Always a fan of those. Prism also hits a lot of traits that i find attractive, myself….old lady scientist with good intentions falling into evil?? And her personal nemesis ends up saving her???? AND she ends up being Phoenix's first on screen ally?????????? Gets me so bad.
It's also the inherent…comfort in each other, I think. Knowing that Phoenix has found someone to lean on outside the Agency. Knowing that Prism's no longer alone. Also I like that they have different ways of thinking, they could very well do schemes of their own…not to mention the science shenanigans. Prism doing shit while Phoenix is her sweet lil assistant. And Phoenix helping Prism out of any odd situation she might find herself in. they've got each other's backs :'3 They make me ill.........
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Idk this ship isn't that popular enough for me to warrant an unpopular opinion, other than I wish more people shipped it LMAO. You don't know how much I was dreading being "too self-indulgent" with the aforementioned phoenix/science ladies sketch dump . but apparently people liked it, and they especially liked roxanix. Like gawdamn guys I wouldn't have known .................................

15. sun, moon, stars, earth, or eclipse?
Prism is the earth who wishes to be a star, I think. Aiming too far too soon, emotions clouding her judgement that she could be brilliant (already brilliant) with what she has. Also, out of all the characters in IEYTD I really do think she's the most grounded. Still a bit eccentric and silly mind you, but like. She's mostly reasonable. Which is hard to say for the rest of the cast.
Phoenix is the moon. Kind of a wild little guy out in space. Prism may be a little jealous from her perspective, being closer to the stars and all--but Phoenix orbits her day and night man. Depending on what theory you subscribe to, the earth did contribute to the creation to the moon, so there's something there I think.
22. their own little way (or ways) to say ‘i love you’.
I already talked about Prism's little ways in this one, and it's kind of the same if she's with Phoenix methinks! Summarized version is she's verbally affectionate and supportive, and she loves spending quality time with them. Phoenix isn't exempt from receiving little custom-made trinkets from her with all the scrap recycling she does. Obviously Phoenix LOVES those little things.
Phoenix is a very affectionate person. They like to hold and hug Prism, and at some point it becomes something of a habit. It's also usually their touch that gets Prism out of her work mode. They use it a lot to convince Prism to take a break and attend to her needs, dammit!!!! Phoenix really likes this role though, they get to take care of one of their favorite people in the world :] They enjoy spending time with her too, either helping her or just listening to her ramble about her stuff. Phoenix loves supporting her through her down times, when Prism's doubting herself (though sometimes it gets a little chaotic without a voice of reason between the two of them...) Most of all though, Phoenix loves Prism's creations and treats them with utmost respect, Especially the bobots. Loves them because they know they're part of her. HEHE all good! thanks for the ask :] I did say some stuff about mina n marshall in a previous ask, so for this I kinda want to delve into their lil dynamic :]
Despite them having a mutual person to connect them together (Starling), they actually had a hard time working together once Starling was out of commission. He gave Mina his earpiece so Marshall could help her while he's gone/kidnapped/whatever. In my mind Mina's basically the Phoenix in the games, solving lil puzzles and whatnot, and Marshall's the Handler.
Marshall ... tries her best to be cooperative, but she ends up kinda distant and snippy. Mina doesn't like being treated like a kid, and worse yet, a spoiled brat - so they have a bunch of moments where Mina just does whatever she thinks is best without listening to Marshall ... it just makes Marshall more frustrated, but she has to keep Mina safe. She still views her as this meddling kid who doesn't know what she's in for, while Mina's already fighting the guilt she has over getting Starling in serious trouble (it's not all her fault. but she wants to help so bad)
They eventually do find a good rhythm to cooperate with one another, especially when Marshall goes out into the field herself. The more they work together the more respect they put on each other, and they apologize over having wildly different first impressions: Mina proves she's capable of handling dangerous situations, and Marshall proves she's only really trying to keep everyone safe. It's only when they become good friends that Mina admits she calls Marshall Meerkat in her notes. She shows her the fursona she made for her. Marshall likes it.
