The higher you go, the harder it is to find those who can tell you the truth. So happy to hear this year’s World Press Freedom Day is themed: “Speaking Truth To Power”. Kids hate parents who feed them vegetables but love those who give them candy. Too many leaders are destroyed because they surround themselves with people who’ll serve them candies, chocolate and soda. And once they get addicted to this, to serve them veggies is to risk your very life or friendship or privilege. This is why Africa struggles. The praise singers drown out all truth with their their loud gong gongs. This is why very promising businesses implode. It is why lots of people with great talent never realize their full potential. Kudos to all the journalists and people of integrity all around the world, who risk their lives and comforts everyday to ensure that Truth reigns; that leaders see clearly; that children who grow feathers too quickly know that the higher your pride, the lower your fall. Thank you for serving veggies, even when they keep spewing it out and screaming “Fake news!!
